Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

یہ مشرک لوگ (تمہاری ان باتوں کے جواب میں) ضرور کہیں گے کہ ”اگر اللہ چاہتا تو نہ ہم شرک کرتے اور نہ ہمارے باپ دادا، اور نہ ہم کسی چیز کو حرام ٹھیراتے“۔1 ایسی ہی باتیں بنا بنا کر اِن سے پہلے کے لوگوں نے بھی حق کو جھٹلایا تھا یہاں تک کہ آخر کار ہمارے عذاب کا مزا انہوں نے چکھ لیا۔ ان سے کہو ”کیا تمہارے پاس کوئی علم ہے جسے ہمارے سامنے پیش کرسکو؟ تم تو محض گمان پر چل رہے ہو اور نری قیاس آرائیاں کرتے ہو“

  1. یعنی وہ اپنے جرم اور اپنی غلط کاری کے لیے وہی پُرانا عذر پیش کریں گے جو ہمیشہ سے مجرم اور غلط کار لوگ پیش کرتے رہے ہیں۔ وہ کہیں گے کہ ہمارے حق میں اللہ کی مشیّت یہی ہے کہ ہم شرک کریں اور جن چیزوں کو ہم نے حرام ٹھیرا رکھا ہے انھیں حرام ٹھیرائیں۔ ورنہ اگر خدا نہ چاہتا کہ ہم ایسا کریں تو کیوں کر ممکن تھا کہ یہ افعال ہم سے صادر ہوتے ۔ پس چونکہ ہم اللہ کی مشیّت کے مطابق یہ سب کچھ کر رہے ہیں اس لیے درست کر رہے ہیں، اس کا الزام اگر ہے تو ہم پر نہیں ، اللہ پر ہے۔ اور جو کچھ ہم کر رہے ہیں ایسا ہی کرنے پر مجبور ہیں کہ اس کے سوا کچھ اور کرنا ہماری قدرت سے باہر ہے۔

Bayan-ul-Quran

عنقریب کہیں گے یہ مشرک لوگ کہ اگر اللہ چاہتا تو نہ ہم شرک کرتے نہ ہمارے آباء و اَجداد اور نہ ہی ہم کسی چیز کو حرام ٹھہراتے اسی طرح جھٹلایا تھا ان لوگوں نے جو ان سے پہلے تھے یہاں تک کہ انہوں نے ہمارے عذاب کا مزا چکھ لیا (آپ ﷺ ان سے) کہیے کہ کیا تمہارے پاس کوئی سند ہے جسے تم ہمارے سامنے پیش کرسکو ؟ تم تو محض گمان کی پیروی کر رہے ہو اور صرف اندازوں اور اٹکل کی باتیں کرتے ہو

Commentary

آیت 148 سَیَقُوْلُ الَّذِیْنَ اَشْرَکُوْا لَوْ شَآء اللّٰہُ مَآ اَشْرَکْنَا وَلآَ اٰبَآؤُنَا وَلاَ حَرَّمْنَا مِنْ شَیْءٍ ط۔یعنی مشرکین مکہ اس طرح کے دلائل دیتے تھے کہ جن چیزوں کے بارے میں ہمیں بتایا جا رہا ہے کہ وہ حرام نہیں ہیں اور ہم نے خواہ مخواہ ان کو حرام ٹھہرا دیا ہے ‘ ایسا کرنا ہمارے لیے ممکن نہیں تھا۔ آخر اللہ تو عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیءٍ قَدِیْرہے ‘ اس کا تو ہمارے ارادے اور عمل پر کلی اختیار تھا۔ لہٰذا یہ سب کام اگر غلط تھے تو وہ ہمیں یہ کام نہ کرنے دیتا اور غلط رستہ اختیار کرنے سے ہمیں روک دیتا۔ اس طرح کی کٹ حجتیاں کرنا انسان کی فطرت ہے۔
