- اِذْجب
- اَنْتُمْتم
- بِالْعُدْوَةِکنارے پر تھے
- الدُّنْیَاقریب کے
- وَهُمْاور وہ
- بِالْعُدْوَةِکنارے پر تھے۔ دوسری طرف تھے
- الْقُصْوٰیدور والے (کنارے پر تھے)۔ دوسری طرف تھے
- وَالرَّكْبُاور قافلہ
- اَسْفَلَنیچے تھا
- مِنْكُمْ ؕتم سے
- وَلَوْاور اگر
- تَوَاعَدْتُّمْتم نے وعدہ مقرر کیا ہوتا
- لَاخْتَلَفْتُمْالبتہ اختلاف میں پڑجاتے تم
- فِیمیں
- الْمِیْعٰدِ ۙمقرر وقت کے بارے میں
- وَلٰكِنْاور لیکن
- لِّیَقْضِیَتاکہ پورا کردے
- اللّٰهُاللہ
- اَمْرًاایک کام کو
- كَانَجو ہو
- مَفْعُوْلًا ۙ۬کر رہنے والا تھا
- لِّیَهْلِكَتاکہ ہلاک کردے
- مَنْجسے
- هَلَكَہلاک ہونا ہے
- عَنْسے
- بَیِّنَةٍدلیل کے ساتھ
- وَّیَحْیٰیاور زندہ رہے
- مَنْجسے
- حَیَّزندہ رہنا ہے
- عَنْساتھ
- بَیِّنَةٍ ؕدلیل روشن کے ساتھ
- وَاِنَّاور بیشک
- اللّٰهَاللہ تعالیٰ
- لَسَمِیْعٌالبتہ سننے والا ہے
- عَلِیْمٌجاننے والا ہے

Translation and commentary
Tafheem-ul-Quran
یاد کرو وہ وقت جبکہ تم وادی کے اِس جانب تھے اور وہ دُوسری جانب پڑاوٴ ڈالے ہوئے تھے اور قافلہ تم سے نیچے (ساحل ) کی طرف تھا۔ اگر کہیں پہلے سے تمہارے اور ان کے درمیان مقابلہ کی قرار داد ہو چکی ہوتی تو تم ضرور اس موقع پر پہلو تہی کرجاتے، لیکن جو کچھ پیش آیا وہ اس لیے تھا کہ جس بات کا فیصلہ اللہ کر چکا تھا اسے ظہور میں لے آئے تاکہ جسے ہلاک ہونا ہے وہ دلیلِ روشن کے ساتھ ہلاک ہو اور جسے زندہ رہنا ہے وہ دلیلِ روشن کے ساتھ زندہ رہے1، یقیناً خدا سُننے اور جاننے والا ہے۔2

یعنی ثابت ہو جائے کہ جو زندہ رہا اسے زندہ ہی رہنا چاہیے تھا اور جو ہلاک ہوا اسے ہلاک ہی ہونا چاہیے تھا۔ یہاں زندہ رہنے والے اور ہلاک ہونے والے سے مراد افراد نہیں ہیں بلکہ اسلام اور جاہلیت ہیں۔

یعنی خدا اندھا، بہرا، بے خبر خدا نہیں ہے بلکہ دانا و بینا ہے ۔ اس کی خدا ئی میں اندھا دُھند کام نہیں ہو رہا ہے۔
