  1. وَاِذْاور جب
  2. قِیْلَکہا گیا
  3. لَهُمُان سے
  4. اسْكُنُوْابس جاؤ۔ رہ جاؤ
  5. هٰذِهِاس
  6. الْقَرْیَةَبستی میں
  7. وَكُلُوْااور کھاؤ
  8. مِنْهَااس میں سے
  9. حَیْثُجہاں سے
  10. شِئْتُمْچاہو تم
  11. وَقُوْلُوْااور کہو
  12. حِطَّةٌحطہ
  13. وَّادْخُلُوااور داخل ہوجاؤ
  14. الْبَابَدروازے میں
  15. سُجَّدًاسجدہ کرتے ہوئے
  16. نَّغْفِرْہم بخش دیں گے
  17. لَكُمْتمہارے لیے
  18. خَطِیْٓـٰٔتِكُمْ ؕتمہاری خطاؤں کو
  19. سَنَزِیْدُعنقریب ہم زیادہ دیں گے
  20. الْمُحْسِنِیْنَاحسان کرنے والوں کو

Tafheem-ul-Quran

1یاد کرو وہ وقت جب ان سےکہا گیا تھا کہ اِس بستی میں جاکر بس جاؤ اور اس کی پیداوار سے اپنے حسبِ منشا روزی حاصل کرو اور حِطَّةُٗ حِطَّةُٗ کہتے جاؤ اور شہر کے دروازے میں سجدہ ریز ہوتے ہوئے داخل ہو، ہم تمہاری خطائیں معاف کریں گے اور نیک رویہ رکھنے والوں مزید فضل سے نوازیں گے

Bayan-ul-Quran

اور یاد کرو جب ان سے کہا گیا تھا کہ آباد ہوجاؤ اس بستی میں اور اس میں سے کھاؤ (پیو) جہاں سے بھی چاہو اور استغفار کرتے رہو اور شہر کے دروازے میں سر جھکا کر داخل ہونا ہم تمہاری خطائیں بخش دیں گے اور ہم محسنین کو اور بھی زیادہ عطا کریں گے۔

Commentary

آیت 161 وَاِذْ قِیْلَ لَہُمُ اسْکُنُوْا ہٰذِہِ الْقَرْیَۃَ وَکُلُوْا مِنْہَا حَیْثُ شِءْتُمْ اس شہر کا نام اریحا تھا ‘ جو آج بھی جریکو Jericho کے نام سے موجود ہے۔ یہ فلسطین کا پہلا شہر تھا جو بنی اسرائیل نے حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السلام کے خلیفہ حضرت یوشع بن نون کی سرکردگی میں باقاعدہ جنگ کر کے فتح کیا تھا۔ وَقُوْلُوْا حِطَّۃٌ وَّادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا اور استغفار کرتے رہو ‘ اور شہر کے دروازے میں سر جھکا کر داخل ہونا انہیں حکم دیا گیا تھا کہ جب شہر میں داخل ہوں تو ’ حِطَّۃٌ‘ کا ورد کرتے ہوئے داخل ہوں۔ اس لفظ کے معنی استغفار کرنے کے ہیں۔ یعنی اللہ تعالیٰ سے اپنی لغزشوں اور کوتاہیوں کی معافی مانگتے ہوئے شہر میں داخل ہونے کا حکم دیا گیا تھا۔ اس ضمن میں دوسرا حکم یہ تھا کہ جب تم فاتح کی حیثیت سے شہر کے دروازے سے داخل ہو تو اس وقت اللہ تعالیٰ کے حضور عاجزی اختیار کرتے ہوئے سجدۂ شکر ادا کرنا۔ کہیں ایسا نہ ہو کہ اس وقت تکبر سے تمہاری گردنیں اکڑی ہوئی ہوں۔ نَّغْفِرْ لَکُمْ خَطِیْٓءٰتِکُمْط سَنَزِیْدُ الْمُحْسِنِیْنَ اس طرح سے ہم نہ صرف یہ کہ تمہاری خطائیں لغزشیں اور فروگزاشتیں معاف کردیں گے ‘ بلکہ تم میں سے مخلص اور نیک لوگوں کو مزید نوازیں گے ‘ ان کے درجات بلند کریں گے اور ان کو اونچے اونچے مراتب عطا کریں گے۔
