راتوں کو کم ہی سوتے تھے۔1

  1. مفسرین کے ایک گروہ  نے اس آیت کا مطلب یہ لیا ہے کہ کم ہی ایسا ہوتا تھا کہ وہ رات بھر سو کر گزار دیں اور اس کا کچھ نہ کچھ حصہ، کم یا زیادہ، ابتدائے شب میں یا وسط شب میں یا آخر شب میں، جاگ کر اللہ تعالیٰ کی عبادت میں صرف نہ کریں۔ یہ تفسیر تھوڑے تھوڑے لفظی اختلافات کے ساتھ حضرات ابن عباس، انس بن مالک، محمد الباقر، مطرف بن عبداللہ، ابولعالیہ، مجاہد، قتادہ، ربیع بن انس وغیرہم سے منقول ہے۔ دوسرے گروہ نے اس کے معنی یہ بیان کیے ہیں کہ وہ اپنی راتوں کا زیادہ حصہ اللہ جل شانہ کی عبادت میں گزارتے تھے اور کم سوتے تھے۔ یہ قول حضرات حسن بصری، اَحنف بن قیس، اور ابن شِہاب زُہری کا ہے، اور بعد کے مفسرین و مترجمین نے اسی کو ترجیح دی ہے، کیونکہ آیت کے الفاظ اور موقع و محل کے لحاظ سے یہی تفسیر زیادہ مناسبت رکھتی نظر آتی ہے۔ اسی لیے ہم نے ترجمے میں یہی معنی اختیار کیے ہیں۔
