اور کتنی ہی قوموں کو ہم نے ان سے پہلے ہلاک کیا ہے جو قوت میں ان سے بڑھ کر تھیں سو انہوں نے ملکوں کے ملک فتح کیے ! پھر کیا وہ کوئی جائے فرار پا سکے ؟

Commentary
آیت 36 { وَکَمْ اَہْلَکْنَا قَـبْلَہُمْ مِّنْ قَرْنٍ ہُمْ اَشَدُّ مِنْہُمْ بَطْشًا فَنَقَّــبُوْا فِی الْبِلَادِ ط ہَلْ مِنْ مَّحِیْصٍ۔ } ”اور کتنی ہی قوموں کو ہم نے ان سے پہلے ہلاک کیا ہے جو قوت میں ان سے بڑھ کر تھیں ‘ سو انہوں نے ملکوں کے ملک فتح کیے ! پھر کیا وہ کوئی جائے فرار پا سکے ؟“ نَقَبَ کا معنی ہے نقب لگانا ‘ یعنی دیوار میں سوراخ کرنا ‘ جبکہ نَقَّبَ فِی الْاَرْضِ باب تفعیل کا مفہوم ہے : بھاگ دوڑ کرتے ہوئے کسی ملک میں جا گھسنا ‘ یعنی کسی علاقے کو فتح کرلینا۔ وہ لوگ اتنے زور آور تھے کہ اپنی فتوحات کا دائرہ وسیع کرنے کے لیے مختلف علاقوں میں گھستے چلے گئے اور ملکوں پر ملک فتح کرتے چلے گئے ‘ لیکن جب اللہ کی پکڑ آئی تو انہیں بھاگنے کو جگہ نہ ملی۔
