- وَكَتَبْنَااور لکھ دیا ہم نے
- عَلَیْهِمْان پر
- فِیْهَاۤاس میں
- اَنَّبیشک
- النَّفْسَجان
- بِالنَّفْسِ ۙبدلے جان کے
- وَالْعَیْنَاور آنکھ
- بِالْعَیْنِبدلے آنکھ کے
- وَالْاَنْفَاور ناک
- بِالْاَنْفِبدلے ناک کے
- وَالْاُذُنَاور کان
- بِالْاُذُنِبدلے کان کے
- وَالسِّنَّاور دانت
- بِالسِّنِّ ۙبدلے دانت کے
- وَالْجُرُوْحَاور تمام زخموں کا بھی
- قِصَاصٌ ؕبدلہ ہے
- فَمَنْتو جو کوئی
- تَصَدَّقَصدقہ کرے۔ معاف کردے
- بِهٖساتھ اس کے
- فَهُوَتو وہ
- كَفَّارَةٌکفارہ ہوگا
- لَّهٗ ؕاس کے لیے
- وَمَنْاور جو کوئی
- لَّمْنہ
- یَحْكُمْفیصلہ کرے
- بِمَاۤساتھ اس کے جو
- اَنْزَلَنازل کیا
- اللّٰهُاللہ نے
- فَاُولٰٓىِٕكَتو یہی لوگ ہیں
- هُمُوہ
- الظّٰلِمُوْنَجو ظالم ہیں

توراة میں ہم نے یہودیوں پر یہ حکم لکھ دیا تھا کہ جان کے بدلے جان، آنکھ کے بدلے آنکھ، ناک کے بدلے ناک، کان کے بدلے کان، دانت کے بدلے دانت، اور تمام زخموں کے لیے برابر کا بدلہ۔1 پھر جو قصاص کا صدقہ کردے تو وہ اس کے لیے کَفّارہ ہے،2 اور جو لوگ اللہ کے نازل کردہ قانون کے مطابق فیصلہ نہ کریں وہی ظالم ہیں

یعنی جو شخص صدقہ کی نیت سے قصاص معاف کر دے اس کے حق میں یہ نیکی اس کے بہت سے گناہوں کا کفارہ ہو جائے گا۔ اسی معنی میں نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا یہ ارشاد ہے کہ من جرح فی جسدہ جراحۃ فتصدق بھا کفر عنہ ذنوبہ بمثل ما تصدق بہ1۔ یعنی جس کے جسم میں کوئی زخم لگا یا گیا اور اس نے معاف کر دیا تو جس درجہ کی یہ معافی ہوگی اسی کے بقدر اس کے گناہ معاف کر دیے جائیں گے۔
