- وَلَقَدْاور البتہ تحقیق
- اٰتَیْنَادی ہم نے
- بَنِیْۤبنی
- اِسْرَآءِیْلَاسرائیل کو
- الْكِتٰبَکتاب
- وَالْحُكْمَاور حکومت
- وَالنُّبُوَّةَاور نبوت
- وَرَزَقْنٰهُمْاور رزق دیا ہم نے ان کو
- مِّنَسے
- الطَّیِّبٰتِپاکیزہ چیزوں میں (سے)
- وَفَضَّلْنٰهُمْاور فضیلت دی ہم نے ان کو

اِس سے پہلے بنی اسرائیل کو ہم نے کتاب اور حُکم1 اور نبوّت عطا کی تھی۔ اُن کو ہم نے عمدہ سامانِ زیست سے نوازا ، دنیا بھر کے لوگوں پر انہیں فضیلت عطا کی،2

حکم سے مراد تین چیزیں ہیں۔ ایک، کتاب کا علم و فہم اور دین کی سمجھ۔ دوسرے، کتاب کے منشا کے مطابق کام کرنے کی حکمت۔ تیسرے، معاملات میں فیصلہ کرنے کی صلاحیت۔

یہ مطلب نہیں ہے کہ ہمیشہ ہمیشہ کے لیے انہیں تمام دنیا والوں پر فضیلت عطا کر دی، بلکہ اس کا صحیح مطلب یہ ہے کہ اس زمانے میں دنیا کی تمام قوموں میں سے بنی اسرائیل کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس خدمت کے لیے چن لیا تھا کہ وہ کتاب اللہ کے حامل ہوں اور خدا پرستی کے علمبردار بن کر اٹھیں۔
