  1. وَقَدْحالانکہ تحقیق
  2. نَزَّلَاس نے نازل کیا
  3. عَلَیْكُمْتم پر
  4. فِیمیں
  5. الْكِتٰبِکتاب (میں)
  6. اَنْیہ کہ
  7. اِذَاجب
  8. سَمِعْتُمْسنو تم
  9. اٰیٰتِآیات کو
  10. اللّٰهِاللہ کی
  11. یُكْفَرُکفر کیا جاتا ہے
  12. بِهَاساتھ ان کے
  13. وَیُسْتَهْزَاُمذاق اڑایا
  14. بِهَاان کا
  15. فَلَاتو نہ
  16. تَقْعُدُوْاتم بیٹھو
  17. مَعَهُمْان کے ساتھ
  18. حَتّٰییہاں تک کہ
  19. یَخُوْضُوْاوہ مشغول ہوجائیں
  20. فِیْمیں
  21. حَدِیْثٍایک بات (میں)
  22. غَیْرِهٖۤ ۖؗاس کے سوا
  23. اِنَّكُمْبیشک تم
  24. اِذًاتب
  25. مِّثْلُهُمْ ؕان کی مانند ہو
  26. اِنَّبیشک
  27. اللّٰهَاللہ
  28. جَامِعُجمع کرنے والا ہے
  29. الْمُنٰفِقِیْنَمنافقوں کو
  30. وَالْكٰفِرِیْنَاور کافروں کو
  31. فِیْمیں
  32. جَهَنَّمَجہنم میں
  33. جَمِیْعَاسب کے سب کو

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اللہ اس کتاب میں تم کو پہلے ہی حکم دے چکا ہے کہ جہاں تم سنو کہ اللہ کی آیات کے خلاف کفر بکا جارہاہے اور ان اکا مذاق اڑایا جا رہا ہے وہاں نہ بیٹھو جب تک کہ لوگ کسی دوسری بات میں نہ لگ جائیں۔ اب اگر تم ایسا کرتے ہو توتم بھی انہی کی طرح ہو۔1 یقین جانو کہ اللہ منافقوں اور کافروں کو جہنم میں ایک جگہ جمع کرنے والا ہے

  1. یعنی اگر ایک شخص اسلام کا دعویٰ رکھنے کے باوجود کافروں کی ان صحبتوں میں شریک ہوتا ہے جہاں آیاتِ الہٰی کے خلاف کفر بکا جاتا ہے ، اور ٹھنڈے دل سے ان لوگوں کو خدا  اور رسول کا مذاق اُڑاتے ہوئے سنتا ہے ، تو اس میں اور ان کافروں میں کوئی فرق نہیں  رہتا۔ (جس حکم کا اس آیت میں ذکر کیا گیا ہے وہ سُورہ اَنعام آیت ۶8 میں بیان ہوا ہے)۔

اور یہ بات وہ تم پر نازل کرچکا ہے کتاب میں کہ جب تم سنو کہ اللہ کی آیات کے ساتھ کفر کیا جا رہا ہے اور ان کا مذاق اڑایا جا رہا ہے تو ان کے ساتھ مت بیٹھویہاں تک کہ وہ کسی اور بات میں لگ جائیں ورنہ تم بھی انہی کی مانند ہوجاؤ گے یقیناً اللہ تعالیٰ جمع کرنے والا ہے منافقوں کو بھی اور کافروں کو بھی جہنم میں سب کے سب

Commentary

آیت 140 وَقَدْ نَزَّلَ عَلَیْکُمْ فِی الْکِتٰبِ اَنْ اِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ اٰیٰتِ اللّٰہِ یُکْفَرُ بِہَا وَیُسْتَہْزَاُ بِہَا فَلاَ تَقْعُدُوْا مَعَہُمْ حَتّٰی یَخُوْضُوْا فِیْ حَدِیْثٍ غَیْرِہٖ ز یہ سورة الانعام کی آیت 68 کا حوالہ ہے جس میں مسلمانوں کو حکم دیا گیا تھا کہ جب تمہارے سامنے کافر لوگ اللہ کی آیات کا استہزاء کر رہے ہوں ‘ قرآن کا مذاق اڑا رہے ہوں تو تم وہاں بیٹھو نہیں ‘ وہاں سے اٹھ جاؤ۔ یہ مکیّ آیت ہے۔ چونکہ اس وقت مسلمانوں میں اتنا زور نہیں تھا کہ کفار کو ایسی حرکتوں سے زبردستی منع کرسکتے اس لیے ان کو بتایا گیا کہ ایسی محفلوں میں تم لوگ مت بیٹھو۔ اگر کسی محفل میں ایسی کوئی بات ہوجائے تو احتجاجاً وہاں سے اٹھ کر چلے جاؤ۔ ایسا نہ ہو کہ ایسی باتوں سے تمہاری غیرت ایمانی میں بھی کچھ کمی آجائے یا تمہاری ایمانیِ حس کند پڑجائے۔ ہاں جب وہ لوگ دوسری باتوں میں مشغول ہوجائیں تو پھر دوبارہ ان کے پاس جانے میں کوئی حرج نہیں۔ دراصل یہاں غیر مسلموں سے تعلق منقطع کرنا مقصود نہیں کیونکہ ان کو تبلیغ کرنے کے لیے ان کے پاس جانا بھی ضروری ہے۔ اِنَّکُمْ اِذًا مِّثْلُہُمْ ط اگر اس حالت میں تم بھی ان کے ساتھ بیٹھے رہوگے تو پھر تم بھی ان جیسے ہوجاؤ گے۔
