Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

یہ سمجھ رہے ہیں کہ حملہ آور گروہ ابھی گئے نہیں ہیں اور اگر وہ پھر حملہ آور ہو جائیں تو ان کا جی چاہتا ہے کہ اُس موقع پر یہ کہیں صحرا میں بدوؤں کے درمیان جا بیٹھیں اور وہیں سے تمہارے حالات پوچھتے رہیں تاہم اگر یہ تمہارے درمیان رہے بھی تو لڑائی میں کم ہی حصہ لیں گے

Bayan-ul-Quran

وہ لشکروں کے بارے میں سمجھتے ہیں کہ ابھی وہ گئے نہیں ہیں۔ اور اگر لشکر (دوبارہ) حملہ آور ہوجائیں تو ان کی خواہش ہوگی کہ وہ بدوئوں کے ساتھ صحرا میں رہ رہے ہوتے (اور وہیں سے) تمہاری خبریں معلوم کرتے رہتے۔ اور اگر وہ تمہارے درمیان رہتے تو قتال نہ کرتے مگر بہت ہی تھوڑا۔

Commentary

آیت 20 { یَحْسَبُوْنَ الْاَحْزَابَ لَمْ یَذْہَبُوْا } ”وہ لشکروں کے بارے میں سمجھتے ہیں کہ ابھی وہ گئے نہیں ہیں۔“ اگرچہ کفار کے تمام لشکر واپس جا چکے ہیں مگر ان پر ایسا خوف طاری ہے کہ انہیں یقین ہی نہیں آتا کہ وہ چلے گئے ہیں۔ وہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ یہ لشکر کسی حکمت عملی کے تحت تھوڑی دیر کے لیے منظر سے اوجھل ہوئے ہیں اور پھر کچھ ہی دیر کے بعد وہ دوبارہ آجائیں گے۔ جیسے کسی خوفناک حادثے کی دہشت دیر تک ایک شخص کے اعصاب پر سوار رہتی ہے اسی طرح ان کے اعصاب پر ابھی تک ان لشکروں کا خوف مسلط ہے۔ { وَاِنْ یَّاْتِ الْاَحْزَابُ یَوَدُّوْا لَوْ اَنَّہُمْ بَادُوْنَ فِی الْاَعْرَابِ یَسْاَلُوْنَ عَنْ اَنْبَـــآئِکُمْ } ”اور اگر لشکر دوبارہ حملہ آور ہوجائیں تو ان کی خواہش ہوگی کہ وہ ّبدوئوں کے ساتھ صحرا میں رہ رہے ہوتے اور وہیں سے تمہاری خبریں معلوم کرتے رہتے۔“ ایسی صورت میں یہ لوگ خواہش کریں گے کہ کاش وہ لوگ مدینہ کو چھوڑ کر ریگستان میں چلے گئے ہوتے ‘ وہاں اہل بدو کے درمیان محفوظ جگہ پر پناہ لیے ہوئے مدینہ کی خبریں پوچھتے رہتے کہ جنگ کا اونٹ کس کروٹ بیٹھا ہے۔ { وَلَـوْ کَانُوْا فِیْکُمْ مَّا قٰــتَلُوْٓا اِلَّا قَلِیْلًا } ”اور اگر وہ تمہارے درمیان رہتے تو قتال نہ کرتے مگر بہت ہی تھوڑا۔“ اگر وہ لوگ تمہارے درمیان موجود بھی ہوتے تو کسی نہ کسی بہانے جنگ سے جان چھڑا ہی لیتے اور کبھی کبھار محض دکھانے کے لیے کسی مہم میں با دل نخواستہ برائے نام حصہ لے لیتے۔
