  1. اَلَمْکیا نہیں
  2. تَرَتم نے دیکھا
  3. اِلَیطرف
  4. الَّذِیْنَان لوگوں کی
  5. اُوْتُوْاجو دیے گئے
  6. نَصِیْبًاایک حصہ
  7. مِّنَمیں سے
  8. الْكِتٰبِکتاب
  9. یُدْعَوْنَوہ بلائے جاتے ہیں
  10. اِلٰیطرف
  11. كِتٰبِکتاب کے
  12. اللّٰهِاللہ کی
  13. لِیَحْكُمَتاکہ وہ فیصلہ کرے
  14. بَیْنَهُمْان کے درمیان
  15. ثُمَّپھر
  16. یَتَوَلّٰیاللہ کی منہ موڑتا ہے۔ پہلو تہی کرتا ہے
  17. فَرِیْقٌایک گروہ
  18. مِّنْهُمْان میں سے
  19. وَهُمْاور وہ
  20. مُّعْرِضُوْنَمنہ موڑنے والے ہیں۔ اعراض کرنے والے ہیں

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

تم نے دیکھا نہیں کہ جن لوگوں کو کتاب کے علم میں سے کچھ حصّہ ملا ہے، اُن کا حال کیا ہے؟ اُنہیں جب کتابِ الٰہی کی طرف بُلایا جاتا ہے تاکہ وہ اُن کے درمیان فیصلہ کرے،1 تو ان میں سے ایک فریق اس سے پہلو تہی کرتا ہے اور اس فیصلے کی طرف آنے سے منہ پھیر جاتا ہے

  1. یعنی ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ خدائی کتاب  کو آخری سند مان لو، اس کے فیصلے کے آگے سر جھکا  دو اور جو کچھ اس کی رُو سے حق ثابت ہو، اسے حق اور جو اس کی رُوسے باطل ثابت ہو، اسے باطل تسلیم کر لو۔ واضح رہے کہ اس مقام پر خدا کی کتاب سے مراد تورات و انجیل ہے اور ”کتاب کے عِلم میں سے کچھ حصّہ پانے والوں“ سے مراد یہود و نصاریٰ کے علما ہیں۔

کیا تم نے غور نہیں کیا ان لوگوں کی حالت پر جنہیں کتاب کا ایک حصہ دیا گیا تھا ؟ اب انہیں بلایا جاتا ہے اللہ کی کتاب کی طرف کہ وہ ان کے مابین فیصلہ کرے پھر ان میں سے ایک گروہ پیٹھ پھیر لیتا ہے اعراض کرتے ہوئے

Commentary

آیت 23 اَلَمْ تَرَ اِلَی الَّذِیْنَ اُوْتُوْا نَصِیْبًا مِّنَ الْکِتٰبِ اُوْتُوْا مجہول کا صیغہ ہے اور یاد رہے کہ جہاں مذمت کا پہلو ہوتا ہے وہاں مجہول کا صیغہ آتا ہے۔یُدْعَوْنَ اِلٰی کِتٰبِ اللّٰہِ لِیَحْکُمَ بَیْنَہُمْ ثُمَّ یَتَوَلّٰی فَرِیْقٌ مِّنْہُمْ وَہُمْ مُّعْرِضُوْنَ ۔یعنی کتاب کو مانتے بھی ہیں لیکن اس کے فیصلے کو تسلیم کرنے کے لیے تیار نہیں ہیں۔
