- رَبِّاے میرے رب
- اِنِّیْبیشک میں نے
- ظَلَمْتُظلم کیا
- نَفْسِیْاپنی جان پر
- فَاغْفِرْپس بخش دے
- لِیْمجھ کو
- فَغَفَرَتو اس نے بخش دیا
- لَهٗ ؕاس کو
- اِنَّهٗبیشک وہ
- هُوَوہ
- الْغَفُوْرُغفور

پھر وہ کہنے لگا”اے میرے ربّ، میں نے اپنے نفس پر ظلم کر ڈالا، میری مغفرت فرما دے۔“1 چنانچہ اللہ نے اُس کی مغفرت فرما دی، وہ غفورٌ رحیم ہے۔2

مغفرت کے معنی در گزر کرنے اور معاف کر دینے کے بھی ہیں ، اور ستر پوشی کرنے کے بھی۔ حضرت موسیٰؑ کی دعا کا مطلب یہ تھا کہ میرے اس گناہ کو (جسے تو جانتا ہے کہ میں عمداً نہیں کیا ہے ) معاف بھی فرمادے اور اس کا پردہ بھی ڈھانک دے تا کہ دشمنوں کو اس کا پتہ نہ چلے۔

اس کے بھی دو مطلب ہیں، اور دونوں یہاں مراد ہیں۔ یعنی اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کا یہ قصور معاف بھی فرمادیا اور حضرت موسیٰؑ کا پردہ بھی ڈھانک دیا، یعنی قبطی قوم کے کسی فرد اور قبطی حکومت کے کسی آدمی کا اُس وقت اُن کے آس پاس کہیں گزر نہ ہوا کہ وہ قتل کے اس واقعہ کو دیکھ لیتا۔ اس طرح حضرت موسیٰؑ کو خاموشی کے ساتھ موقع واردات سے نکل جانے کا موقع مل گیا۔
