- وَاِنْاور اگر
- طَلَّقْتُمُوْهُنَّتم طلاق دو ان کو
- مِنْسے
- قَبْلِاس سے پہلے
- اَنْکہ
- تَمَسُّوْهُنَّتم نے ہاتھ لگایا ان کو
- وَقَدْاور تحقیق
- فَرَضْتُمْمقرر کردیا تھا تم نے
- لَهُنَّان کے لیے
- فَرِیْضَةًمہر کو
- فَنِصْفُتو آدھا ہے
- مَاجو
- فَرَضْتُمْمقرر کیا تم نے (مہر)
- اِلَّاۤمگر
- اَنْیہ کہ
- یَّعْفُوْنَوہ (عورتیں) معاف کردیں
- اَوْیا
- یَعْفُوَامعاف کردے
- الَّذِیْوہ شخص
- بِیَدِهٖاس کے ہاتھ میں ہے

Bayan-ul-Quran
اور اگر تم عورتوں کو طلاق دو ان کو ہاتھ لگانے سے پہلے اور تم ٹھہرا چکے تھے ان کے لیے ایک متعینّ مہر تو جو مہر تم نے طے کیا تھا اب اس کا آدھا ادا کرنا لازم ہے الایہ کہ وہ معاف کردیں یا وہ شخص درگزر سے کام لے جس کے ہاتھ میں نکاح کی گرہ ہے اور یہ کہ تم مرد درگزر کرو تو یہ تقویٰ سے قریب تر ہے اور اپنے مابین احسان کرنا مت بھلا دو یقیناً جو کچھ تم کر رہے ہو اللہ اسے دیکھ رہا ہے

Commentary
آیت 237 وَاِنْ طَلَّقْتُمُوْہُنَّ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ تَمَسُّوْہُنَّ وَقَدْ فَرَضْتُمْ لَہُنَّ فَرِیْضَۃً فَنِصْفُ مَا فَرَضْتُمْ اس صورت میں مقرر شدہ مہر کا آدھا تو تمہیں دینا ہی دینا ہے۔اِلَّآ اَنْ یَّعْفُوْنَ یعنی کوئی عورت خود کہے کہ مجھے آدھا بھی نہیں چاہیے یا کوئی کہے کہ مجھے چوتھائی دے دیجیے۔اَوْ یَعْفُوَا الَّذِیْ بِیَدِہٖ عُقْدَۃُ النِّکَاحِ ط۔ اور یہ گرہ مرد کے ہاتھ میں ہے ‘ وہ اسے کھول سکتا ہے۔ عورت از خود طلاق دے نہیں سکتی۔ لہٰذا مردوں کے لیے ترغیب ہے کہ وہ اس معاملے میں فراخ دلی سے کام لیں۔وَاَنْ تَعْفُوْآ اَقْرَبُ للتَّقْوٰی ط وَلاَ تَنْسَوُا الْفَضْلَ بَیْنَکُمْ ط اس کا ترجمہ یوں بھی کیا گیا ہے : اور تمہارے درمیان ایک کو دوسرے پر جو فضیلت ہے اس کو مت بھولو۔ یعنی اللہ نے جو فضیلت تم مردوں کو عورتوں پر دی ہے اس کو مت بھولو۔ چناچہ تمہارا طرز عمل بھی ایسا ہونا چاہیے کہ تم اپنے بڑے ہونے کے حساب سے ان کے ساتھ نرمی کرو اور ان کو زیادہ دو۔ تم نے ان کا جتنا بھی مہر مقرر کیا تھا وہ نصف کے بجائے پورا دے دو اور انہیں معروف طریقے سے عزت و تکریم کے ساتھ رخصت کرو۔
