ان کی مثال ایسی ہے جیسے ایک شخص نے آگ روشن کی۔ پھر جب اس آگ نے سارے ماحول کو روشن کردیا تو اللہ نے ان کا نور بصارت سلب کرلیا اور چھوڑ دیا ان کو ان اندھیروں کے اندر کہ وہ کچھ نہیں دیکھتے۔

Commentary
آیت 17 مَثَلُھُمْ کَمَثَلِ الَّذِی اسْتَوْقَدَ نَارًا ج یہاں ایک شب تاریک کا نقشہ کھینچا جا رہا ہے۔ علامہ اقبال کے الفاظ میں اندھیری شب ہے جدا اپنے قافلے سے ہے تو ترے لیے ہے مرا شعلۂ نوا قندیل !اندھیری شب ہے۔ قافلہ بھٹک رہا ہے۔ کچھ لوگ بڑی ہمت کرتے ہیں کہ اندھیرے میں بھی ادھر ادھر سے لکڑیاں جمع کرتے ہیں اور آگ روشن کردیتے ہیں۔ لیکن عین اس وقت جب آگ روشن ہوتی ہے تو کچھ لوگوں کی بینائی سلب ہوجاتی ہے۔ پہلے وہ اندھیرے میں اس لیے تھے کہ خارج میں روشنی نہیں تھی۔ اب بھی وہ اندھیرے ہی میں رہ گئے کہ خارج میں تو روشنی آگئی مگر ان کے اندر کی روشنی گل ہوگئی ‘ ان کی بصارت سلب ہوگئی۔ یہ مثال ہے ان کفار کی جو اسلام کی روشنی پھیلنے کے باوجود اس سے محروم رہے ‘ محمد رسول اللہ ﷺ کی آمد سے پہلے ہر سو تاریکی چھائی ہوئی تھی۔ کوئی حقیقت واضح نہیں تھی۔ قافلۂ انسانیت اندھیری شب میں بھٹک رہا تھا۔ محمد رسول اللہ ﷺ تشریف لائے اور انہوں نے آگ روشن کردی۔ اس طرح ہدایت واضح ہوگئی۔ لیکن کچھ ضد ‘ تعصب ‘ تکبرّ یا حسد کی بنیاد پر کچھ لوگوں کی اندر کی بینائی زائل ہوگئی۔ چناچہ وہ تو ویسے کے ویسے بھٹک رہے ہیں۔ جیسے پہلے اندھیرے میں تھے ویسے ہی اب بھی اندھیرے میں ہیں۔ روشنی میں آنے والے تو وہ ہیں جن کا ذکر سب سے پہلے ”المُتّقین“ کے نام سے ہوا ہے۔
