جن بُرے نتائج سے ہم انہیں ڈرا رہے ہیں ان کا کوئی حصہ ہم تیرے جیتے جی دکھا دیں یا اس سے پہلے ہی تجھے اُٹھا لیں، بہرحال اِنہیں آنا ہماری ہی طرف ہے اور جو کچھ یہ کر رہے ہیں اس پر اللہ گواہ ہے

اور اگر ہم دکھا دیں آپ ﷺ کو اس میں سے کچھ (عذاب) جس کا ہم ان سے وعدہ کر رہے ہیں یا (اس سے پہلے ہی) ہم آپ کو وفات دے دیں پس انہیں ہماری ہی طرف لوٹ کر آنا ہے پھر اللہ گواہ ہے اس پر جو وہ کر رہے ہیں۔

Commentary
فَاِلَیْنَا مَرْجِعُہُمْ ثُمَّ اللّٰہُ شَہِیْدٌ عَلٰی مَا یَفْعَلُوْنَ یعنی آخری محاسبہ تو ان کا قیامت کے دن ہونا ہی ہے ‘ مگر ہوسکتا ہے کہ یہاں دنیا میں بھی سزا کا کچھ حصہ ان کے لیے مختص کردیا جائے۔ جیسا کہ بعد میں مشرکین مکہ پر عذاب آیا۔ ان پر آنے والے اس عذاب کا انداز پہلی قوموں کے عذاب سے مختلف تھا۔ اس عذاب کی پہلی قسط جنگ بدر میں ان کے ّ ستر سرداروں کے قتل اور ذلت آمیز شکست کی صورت میں سامنے آئی ‘ جبکہ دوسری اور آخری قسط 9 ہجری میں واردہوئی جب انہیں الٹی میٹم دے دیا گیا : فَسِیْحُوْا فِی الْاَرْضِ اَرْبَعَۃَ اَشْہُرٍ۔ التوبۃ : 2 کہ اب تمہارے لیے صرف چند ماہ کی مہلت ہے ‘ اس میں ایمان لے آؤ ورنہ قتل کردیے جاؤ گے۔ اہل مکہ کے ساتھ عذاب کا معاملہ پہلی قوموں کے مقابلے میں شاید اس لیے بھی مختلف رہا کہ پہلی قوموں کی نسبت ان کے ہاں ایمان لانے والوں کی تعداد کافی بہتر رہی۔ مثلاً اگر حضرت نوح کی ساڑھے نو سو سال کی تبلیغ سے 80 لوگ ایمان لائے میری رائے میں وہ لوگ 80 بھی نہیں تھے تو یہاں مکہ میں حضور کی بارہ سال کی محنت کے نتیجے میں اہل ایمان کی تعداد اس سے دو گنا تھی اور ان میں حضرت ابوبکر ‘ حضرت طلحہ ‘ حضرت زبیر ‘ حضرت عثمان ‘ حضرت عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف ‘ حضرت عمر اور حضرت حمزہ رض جیسے بڑے بڑے لوگ بھی شامل تھے۔
