  1. وَیَوْمَاور جس دن
  2. یَحْشُرُهُمْوہ اکٹھا کرے گا ان کو
  3. كَاَنْگویا کہ
  4. لَّمْنہیں
  5. یَلْبَثُوْۤاوہ ٹھہرے
  6. اِلَّامگر
  7. سَاعَةًایک گھڑی
  8. مِّنَکی
  9. النَّهَارِدن
  10. یَتَعَارَفُوْنَوہ پہچان رکھتے تھے
  11. بَیْنَهُمْ ؕآپس میں
  12. قَدْتحقیق
  13. خَسِرَخسارہ پایا
  14. الَّذِیْنَان لوگوں نے
  15. كَذَّبُوْاجنہوں نے جھٹلایا
  16. بِلِقَآءِملاقات کو
  17. اللّٰهِاللہ کی
  18. وَمَااور نہ
  19. كَانُوْاتھے وہ
  20. مُهْتَدِیْنَہدایت پانے والے

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

(آج یہ دُنیا کی زندگی میں مست ہیں) اور جس روز اللہ اِن کو اکٹھا کرے گا تو (یہی دُنیا کی زندگی اِنہیں ایسی محسُوس ہوگی) گویا یہ محض ایک گھڑی بھر آپس میں جان پہچان کرنے کو ٹھہرے تھے۔1 (اُس وقت تحقیق ہو جائے گا کہ) فی الواقع سخت گھاٹے میں رہے وہ لوگ جنہوں نے اللہ کی ملاقات کو جھُٹلایا2 اور ہر گز وہ راہِ راست پر نہ تھے

  1. یعنی جب ایک طرف آخرت کی بے پایاں زندگی  ان کے سامنے ہو گی اور دوسری طرف یہ پلٹ کر اپنی دنیا کی زندگی پر نگاہ ڈالیں گے تو انہیں مستقبل کے مقابلہ میں اپنا یہ ماضی نہایت حقیر محسوس ہو گا۔ اُس وقت اِن کو اندازہ ہو گا کہ انہوں نے اپنی سابقہ زندگی میں تھوڑی سی لذتوں اور منفعتوں کی خاطر اپنے اس ابدی مستقبل کو خراب کر کے کتنی بڑی حماقت کا ارتکاب کیا ہے۔

  2. یعنی اس بات کو کہ ایک دن اللہ کے سامنے حاضر ہونا ہے۔

Bayan-ul-Quran

اور جس دن وہ انہیں جمع کرے گا (تو وہ محسوس کریں گے) جیسے نہیں رہے وہ مگر دن کی ایک گھڑی وہ ایک دوسرے کو پہچان رہے ہوں گے۔ وہ لوگ بڑے خسارے کا شکار ہوئے جنہوں نے جھٹلادیا اللہ کی ملاقات کو اور نہ ہوئے وہ ہدایت پانے والے۔

Commentary

آیت 45 وَیَوْمَ یَحْشُرُہُمْ کَاَنْ لَّمْ یَلْبَثُوْٓا الاَّ سَاعَۃً مِّنَ النَّہَارِ یَتَعَارَفُوْنَ بَیْنَہُمْ ط انہیں دنیا اور عالم برزخ میں گزرا ہوا وقت ایسے محسوس ہوگا جیسے کہ وہ ایک دن کا کچھ حصہ تھا۔قَدْ خَسِرَ الَّذِیْنَ کَذَّبُوْا بِلِقَآء اللّٰہِ وَمَا کَانُوْا مُہْتَدِیْنَ آگے عذاب کی اس دھمکی کا ذکر آ رہا ہے جس کے بارے میں آیت 39 میں فرمایا گیا تھا : وَلَمَّا یَاْتِہِمْ تَاْوِیْلُہٗ ط کہ اس کی تاویل ابھی ان کے پاس نہیں آئی۔
