- یٰۤاَیُّهَااے
- الَّذِیْنَلوگو !
- اٰمَنُوْۤاجو ایمان لائے ہو
- اِنَّبیشک
- كَثِیْرًابہت سے
- مِّنَسے
- الْاَحْبَارِعلماء میں سے
- وَالرُّهْبَانِاور درویشوں میں سے
- لَیَاْكُلُوْنَالبتہ کھاتے ہیں
- اَمْوَالَمال
- النَّاسِلوگوں کے
- بِالْبَاطِلِباطل طریقے پر
- وَیَصُدُّوْنَاور وہ روکتے ہیں
- عَنْسے
- سَبِیْلِراستے
- اللّٰهِ ؕاللہ کے
- وَالَّذِیْنَاور وہ لوگ
- یَكْنِزُوْنَجو جمع کرتے ہیں
- الذَّهَبَسونا
- وَالْفِضَّةَاور چاندی
- وَلَااور نہیں
- یُنْفِقُوْنَهَاوہ خرچ کرتے اس کو
- فِیْمیں
- سَبِیْلِراستے
- اللّٰهِ ۙاللہ کے
- فَبَشِّرْهُمْپس خوش خبری دے دو ان کو
- بِعَذَابٍعذاب کی
- اَلِیْمٍدردناک

Tafheem-ul-Quran
اے ایمان لانے والو، اِن اہلِ کتاب کے اکثر علماء اور درویشوں کا حال یہ ہے کہ وہ لوگوں کے مال باطل طریقوں سے کھاتے ہیں اور انہیں اللہ کی راہ سے روکتے ہیں۔1 دردناک سزا کی خوشخبری دو ان کو جو سونے اور چاندی جمع کرکے رکھتے ہیں اور انہیں خدا کی راہ میں خرچ نہیں کرتے

یعنی ظالم صرف یہی ستم نہیں کرتے کہ فتوے بیچتے ہیں، رشوتیں کھاتے ہیں، نذرانے لوٹتے ہیں ، ایسے ایسے مذہبی ضابطے اور مراسم ایجاد کرتے ہیں جن سے لوگ اپنی نجات اِن دے خریدیں اور اُن کا مرنا جینا اور شادی و غم کچھ بھی اِن کو کھلائے بغیر نہ ہو سکے اور وہ اپنی قسمتیں بنانے اور بگاڑنے کا ٹھیکہ دار اِن کو سمجھ لیں۔ بلکہ مزید براں اپنی اِنہی اغراض کی خاطر یہ حضرات خلقِ خدا کو گمراہیوں کے چکر میں پھنسا ئے رکھتے ہیں اور جب کبھی کوئی دعوتِ حق اصلا ح کے لیے اُٹھتی ہے تو سب سے پہلے یہی اپنی عالمانہ فریب کاریوں اور مکاریوں کے حربے لے لے کر اس کا راستہ روکنے کھڑے ہو جاتے ہیں۔
