Translation and commentary
Bayan-ul-Quran
اہل مدینہ اور ان کے اردگرد کے بدو لوگوں کے لیے روا نہیں تھا کہ وہ اللہ کے رسول ﷺ کو چھوڑ کر پیچھے بیٹھ رہتے اور نہ یہ کہ اپنی جانوں کو آپ ﷺ کی جان سے بڑھ کر عزیز رکھتے یہ اس لیے کہ انہیں پیاس مشقت اور فاقے کی (صورت میں) جو بھی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے اللہ کی راہ میں اور جہاں کہیں بھی وہ قدم رکھتے ہیں کفار (کے دلوں) کو جلاتے ہوئے اور دشمن کے مقابلے میں کوئی بھی کامیابی حاصل کرتے ہیں تو ان کے لیے اس (سب کچھ) کے عوض نیکیوں کا اندارج ہوتا رہتا ہے یقیناً اللہ نیک لوگوں کے اجر کو ضائع نہیں کرتا

Commentary (one passage for ayahs 9:120, 9:121)
آیت 120 مَا کَانَ لِاَہْلِ الْمَدِیْنَۃِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَہُمْ مِّنَ الْاَعْرَابِ اَنْ یَّتَخَلَّفُوْا عَنْ رَّسُوْلِ اللّٰہِ وَلاَ یَرْغَبُوْا بِاَنْفُسِہِمْ عَنْ نَّفْسِہٖ ط غزوۂ تبوک کے لیے نکلتے ہوئے مدینہ کے ماحول میں تپتی راہیں مجھ کو پکاریں ‘ دامن پکڑے چھاؤں گھنیری والا معاملہ تھا۔ لہٰذا جب اللہ کے رسول ﷺ ان تپتی راہوں کی طرف کوچ فرما رہے تھے تو کسی ایمان کے دعویدار کو یہ زیب نہیں دیتا تھا کہ وہ آپ ﷺ کا ساتھ چھوڑ کر پیچھے رہ جائے ‘ آپ ﷺ کی جان سے بڑھ کر اپنی جان کی عافیت کی فکر کرے اور آپ ﷺ کے سفر کی صعوبتوں پر اپنی آسائشوں کو ترجیح دے۔ذٰلِکَ بِاَنَّہُمْ لاَ یُصِیْبُہُمْ ظَمَاٌ وَّلاَ نَصَبٌ وَّلاَ مَخْمَصَۃٌ فِیْ سَبِیْلِ اللّٰہِ وَلاَ یَطَءُوْنَ مَوْطِءًا یَّغِیْظُ الْکُفَّارَ وَلاَ یَنَالُوْنَ مِنْ عَدُوٍّ نَّیْلاً الاَّ کُتِبَ لَہُمْ بِہٖ عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ ط اہل ایمان جب اللہ کے راستے میں نکلتے ہیں تو ان کی ہر مشقت اور ہر تکلیف کے عوض اللہ تعالیٰ ان کے نیکیوں کے ذخیرہ میں مسلسل اضافہ فرماتے رہتے ہیں۔
