اُس وقت ہر شخص کو اُس کا اگلا پچھلا سب کیا دھرا معلوم ہو جائے گا۔1

اصل الفاظ ہیں مَا قَدَّ مَتْ وَ اَخَّرَتْ۔ان الفاظ کے کئی مفہوم ہو سکتے ہیں اور وہ سب کی یہاں مراد ہیں(1)جو اچھا یا برا عمل آدمی نے کر کے آگے بھیج دیا وہ مَا قَدَّمَتْ ہے اور جس کے کرنے سے وہ باز رہا وہ مَا اَخَّرَتْ۔ اس لحاظ سے یہ الفاظ تقریباً انگریزی زبان کے الفاظCommission اورOmission کے ہم معنی ہیں۔ (2) جو کچھ پہلے کیا وہ مَاقَدَّمَتْ ہے اور جو کچھ بعد میں کیا وہ مَا اَخَّرَتْ، یعنی آدمی کا پورا نامہ اعمال ترتیب وار اور تاریخ دار اس کے سامنے آجائے گا۔ (3) جو اچھے اور برے اعمال آدمی نے اپنی زندگی میں کیے وہ مَا قَدَّمَتْ ہیں اور ان اعمال کے جو آثار و نتائج وہ انسانی معاشرے میں اپنے پیچھے چھوڑ گیا وہ مَااَخَّرَتْ۔

Commentary
آیت 5{ عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَاَخَّرَتْ۔ } ”اُس وقت ہر جان ‘ جان لے گی کہ اس نے کیا آگے بھیجا اور کیا پیچھے چھوڑا۔“ اس دن ہر شخص کو واضح طور پر معلوم ہوجائے گا کہ اس نے کیا کیا اچھے یا برے اعمال آگے بھیجے تھے اور ان کے آثار و نتائج کی شکل میں کیا کچھ وہ اپنے پیچھے دنیا میں چھوڑ آیا تھا۔ اس مضمون کی وضاحت قبل ازیں سورة القیامہ کی آیت 13 کے تحت بھی کی جا چکی ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ اس آیت کا ایک مفہوم یہ بھی ہے کہ قیامت کے دن ہر انسان کو بتادیا جائے گا کہ اس نے کس شے کو آگے کیا تھا اور کس شے کو پیچھے رکھا تھا۔ یعنی دنیا اور آخرت میں سے اس نے کس کو مقدم رکھا تھا اور کس کو موخر کیا تھا۔ آیت کے اس مفہوم سے واضح ہوتا ہے کہ قیامت کے دن کسی انسان کی کامیابی یا ناکامی کا انحصار کلی طور پر اس ”طرزِعمل“ پر ہے جو وہ اپنی زندگی میں دنیا اور آخرت کے بارے میں اختیار کرتا ہے۔ یعنی انسان کا ایک طرزعمل یہ ہوسکتا ہے کہ میرا اصل مطلوب و مقصود تو آخرت ہے ‘ دنیا کا کیا ہے جو مل گیا وہی غنیمت ہے اور اگر کبھی نہ بھی ملے تب بھی کوئی بات نہیں۔ دوسرا ممکنہ رویہ یہ ہے کہ میرا اصل مقصود تو دنیا ہے ‘ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ اگر آخرت بھی مل جائے تو اچھا ہے ‘ چاہے وہ کسی کی سفارش سے مل جائے یا کسی اور حیلے سے۔ لیکن میری پہلی ترجیح Ist priority بہرحال دنیا اور اس کا مال و متاع ہے ‘ اور زندگی میں میری ساری تگ و دو اسی کے لیے ہے۔
