مگر انسان چاہتا یہ ہے کہ آگے بھی بداعمالیاں کرتا رہے۔¹

   اِس چھوٹے سے فقرے میں منکرینِ آخرت کے اصل مرض کی صاف صاف تشخیص کر دی گئی ہے۔ اِن لوگوں کو جو چیز آخرت کے انکار پر آمادہ کرتی ہے وہ دراصل یہ نہیں ہے کہ فی الواقع وہ قیامت اورآخرت کو نا ممکن سمجھتے ہیں، بلکہ اُن کے اِس انکار کی اصل وجہ یہ ہے کہ آخرت کو ماننے سے لازماً اُن پر کچھ اخلاقی پابندیاں عائد ہوتی ہیں، اور انہیں یہ پابندیاں ناگوار ہیں۔ وہ چاہتے ہیں کہ جس طرح وہ اب تک زمین میں بے نَتھے بیل کی طرح پھرتے رہے ہیں اُسی طرح آئندہ بھی پھر تے رہیں۔ جو ظلم ، جو بے ایمانیاں، جو فسق وفجور، جو بد کر داریاں برتنے سے نہ روکنے پائے کہ ایک دن انہیں اپنے خدا کے سامنے حاضر ہو کر اپنے اِن اعمال کی جواب دہی کرنی پڑے گی۔ اس لیے دراصل اُن کی عقل اُنہیں آخرت پر ایمان لانے سے نہیں روک رہی ہے بلکہ ان کی خوا ہشاتِ نفس اِس میں ما نع ہیں۔
