کہو”میں نہیں جانتا کہ جس چیز کا وعدہ تم سےکیا جارہا ہے وہ قریب ہے یا میرا ربّ اس کے لیے کوئی لمبی مدّت مقرر فرماتا ہے۔1

اندازِ بیان سے محسوس ہوتا ہے کہ یہ ایک سوال کا جواب ہے جو سوال نقل کیے بغیر دیا گیا ہے ۔ غالباً اوپر کی بات سُن کر مخالفین نے طنز اور مذاق کے طور پر سوال کیا ہوگا کہ وہ وقت جس کا ڈراوا آپ دے رہے ہیں آخر کب آئے گا؟ اس کے جواب میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو حکم دیا گیا کہ ان لوگوں سے کہو ، اُس وقت کا آنا تو یقینی ہے مگر اس کے آنے کی تاریخ مجھے نہیں بتائی گئی۔ یہ بات اللہ تعالیٰ ہی کو معلوم ہے کہ آیا وہ جلدی آنے والا ہے یا اس کے لیے ایک طویل مدت مقرر کی گئی ہے۔
