  1. وَقَالُوْااور وہ کہیں گے
  2. لَوْکاش
  3. كُنَّاہم ہوتے
  4. نَسْمَعُہم سنتے
  5. اَوْیا
  6. نَعْقِلُہم سمجھتے ہوتے
  7. مَانہ
  8. كُنَّاہوتے ہم
  9. فِیْۤمیں سے
  10. اَصْحٰبِوالوں
  11. السَّعِیْرِدوزخ

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اور وہ کہیں گے  ”کاش ہم سُنتے اور سمجھتے1 تو آج اِس بھَڑکتی ہوئی آگ کے سزا واروں میں نہ شامل ہوتے۔“

  1. یعنی ہم نے طالبِ حق بن کر انبیاء کی بات کو توجہ سے سنا ہوتا، یا عقل سے کام لے کر یہ سمجھنے کی کوشش کی ہوتی کہ فی الواقع وہ بات کیا ہے جو وہ ہمارے سامنے پیش کر رہے ہیں۔ یہاں سننے کو سمجھنے پر مقدم رکھا گیا ہے۔ اس کی وجہ یہ ہے کہ پہلے نبی کی تعلیم کو توجہ سے سننا(یا اگر وہ لکھی ہوئی شکل میں ہو تو طالبِ حق بن کر اُسے پڑھنا) ہدایت پانے کے لیے شرط اول ہے۔ اُس پر غور کرکے حقیقت کو سمجھنے کی کوشش کرنے کا مرتبہ اس کے بعد آتا ہے ۔ نبی کی رہنمائی کے بغیر اپنی عقل سے بطورِ خود کام لے کر انسان براہِ راست حق تک نہیں پہنچ سکتا۔
