Commentary
آیت 9{ وَاَصْحٰبُ الْمَشْئَمَۃِ لا مَآ اَصْحٰبُ الْمَشْئَمَۃِ۔ } ”اور جو بائیں والے ہوں گے ‘ تو کیا حال ہوگا بائیں والوں کا !“ مَشْئَمَۃ ”شئوم“ سے ہے ‘ جس کے معنی بدنصیبی اور نحوست کے ہیں۔ عربوں کے ہاں جس طرح داہنی جانب خوش قسمتی اور برکت کی علامت سمجھی جاتی تھی اسی طرح بائیں جانب کو منحوس خیال کیا جاتا تھا۔ اس وجہ سے ان دونوں مادوں میں مستقل طور پر برکت اور نحوست کے معنی بھی شامل ہوگئے ہیں۔ چناچہ اَصْحٰبُ الْمَشْئَمَۃ کا دوسرا ترجمہ بدقسمت ‘ بدبخت اور برے لوگ بھی کیا گیا ہے۔ اردو لفظ ”شوم“ شومئی قسمت وغیرہ بھی اسی سے مشتق ہے۔ بہرحال دوسرا گروہ ان لوگوں پر مشتمل ہوگا جو دربارِ الٰہی میں بائیں جانب کھڑے کردیے جائیں گے اور بہت برے انجام سے دوچار ہوں گے۔
