  1. فَكَانَتو تھا اندازے سے

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

یہاں تک کہ دو کمانوں کے برابر یا  اس سے کچھ کم فاصلہ رہ گیا۔1

  1. یعنی آسمان کے بالائی مشرقی کنارے سے نمودار ہونے کے بعد جبریل علیہ السلام نے رسول اللہ علیہ و سلم کی طرف آ گئے بڑھنا شروع کیا یہاں تک کہ بڑھتے بڑھتے وہ آپؐ کے اوپر آ کر فضا میں معلق ہو گئے۔ پھر وہ آپؐ کی طرف جھکے اور اس قدر قریب ہو گئے کہ آپؐ کے اور ان کے درمیان صرف دو کمانوں کے برابر یا کچھ کم فاصلہ رہ گیا۔ عام طور پر مفسرین نے قَابَ قَوْسَیْن کے معنی ’’ بقدر دو قوس‘‘ ہی بیان کیے ہیں، لیکن حضرت عبداللہ بن عباسؓ اور حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعودؓ نے قوس کو ذراع(ہاتھ)کے معنی میں لیا ہے اور کَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَیْنِ کا مطلب وہ یہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ دونوں کے درمیان صرف دو ہاتھ کا فاصلہ رہ گیا تھا۔ اور یہ جو فرمایا کہ فاصلہ دو کمانوں کے برابر یا اس سے کچھ کم تھا، تو اس کا یہ مطلب نہیں ہے کہ معاذ اللہ فاصلے کی مقدار کے تعین میں اللہ تعالیٰ کو کوئی شک لاحق ہو گیا ہے ۔ در اصل یہ طرز بیان اس لیے اختیار کیا گیا ہے کہ تمام کمانیں لازماً ایک ہی ناپ کی نہیں ہوتیں اور ان کے حساب سے کسی فاصلے کو جب بیان کیا جائے گا تو مقدار فاصلہ میں ضرور کمی بیشی ہو گی۔
