اور تھوڑا سا دے کر رُک گیا۔1

  1. اشارہ ہے وَلید بن مغیرہ کی طرف جو قریش کے بڑے سرداروں میں ے ایک تھا۔ ابن جریر طبری کی روایت ہے کہ یہ شخص پہلے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ و سلم کی دعوت قبول کرنے پر آمادہ ہو گیا تھا۔ مگر جب اس کے ایک مشرک دوست کع معلوم ہوا کہ وہ مسلمان ہونے کا ارادہ کر رہا ہے تو اس نے کہا کہ تم دین آبائی کو نہ چھوڑو، اگر تمہیں عذاب آخرت کا خطرہ ہے تو مجھے اِتنی رقم دے دو، میں ذمہ لیتا ہوں کہ تمہارے بدلے وہاں کا عذاب میں بھکت لوں گا۔ ولید نے یہ بات مان لی اور خدا کی راہ پر آتے آتے اس سے پھر گیا، مگر جو رقم اس نے اپنے مشرک دوست کو دینی طے کی تھی وہ بھی جس تھوڑی سے دی اور باقی روک لی۔ اس واقعہ کی طرف اشارہ کرنے سے مقصود کفار مکہ کو یہ بتانا تھا کہ آخرت سے بے فکری اور دین کی حقیقت سے بے خبری نے ان کو کیسی جہالتوں اور حماقتوں میں مبتلا کر رکھا ہے ۔

تھوڑا سا دیا اور پھر سخت ہوگیا۔

Commentary

آیت 34{ وَاَعْطٰی قَلِیْلًا وَّاَکْدٰی رض } ”تھوڑا سا دیا اور پھر سخت ہوگیا۔“ عام مفسرین کی رائے یہ ہے کہ ان آیات میں ولید بن مغیرہ کا تذکرہ ہے۔ مجھے بھی اس رائے سے اتفاق ہے۔ تاریخ میں اس شخص کے بارے میں جو معلومات ملتی ہیں ان سے یہی معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ وہ ذہنی طور پر ایمان لانے کے قریب پہنچ چکا تھا ‘ مگر پھر اچانک اسے اپنی چودھراہٹ یاد آگئی۔ حق جوئی کی خواہش پر عصبیت کا جذبہ غالب آگیا اور یوں اس نے اپنی سوچ دوبارہ بدل لی۔ یہاں اس کے اسی رویے کا ذکر ہے۔ سورة المدثر میں اس شخص کا تذکرہ قدرے تفصیل سے آیا ہے۔
