Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اے اہلِ کتاب ! ہمارا یہ رسُول ایسے وقت تمہارے پاس آیا ہے اور دین کی واضح تعلیم تمہیں دے رہا ہے جبکہ رسولوں کی آمد کا سلسلہ ایک مدّت سے بند تھا، تاکہ تم یہ نہ کہہ سکو کہ ہمارے پاس کوئی بشارت دینے والا اور ڈرانے والا نہیں آیا۔ سو دیکھو ! اب وہ بشارت دینے اور ڈرانے والا آگیا۔۔۔۔اور اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔1

  1. اِس موقع پر یہ فقرہ نہایت بلیغ و لطیف ہے۔ اس کا مطلب یہ بھی ہے کہ جو خدا پہلے بشارت دینے والے اور ڈرانے والے بھیجنے پر قادر تھا اسی نے محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اس خد مت پر مامور کیا ہے اور وہ ایسا کرنے پر قادرتھا۔ دُوسرا مطلب یہ ہے کہ اگر تم نے اس بشیر و نذیر کی بات نہ مانی تو یاد رکھو کہ اللہ قادر و توانا ہے۔ ہرسزا جو وہ تمہیں دینا چاہے بلا مزاحمت دے سکتا ہے۔

Bayan-ul-Quran

اے اہل کتاب ! تمہارے پاس آچکا ہے ہمارا رسول جو تمہارے لیے (دین کو) واضح کر رہا ہے رسولوں کے ایک وقفے کے بعد مبادا تم کہو کہ ہمارے پاس تو آیا ہی نہیں تھا کوئی بشارت دینے والا اور نہ کوئی خبردار کرنے والا تو (سن لو !) آگیا ہے تمہارے پاس بشارت دینے والا اور خبردار کرنے والا اور اللہ ہرچیز پر قادر ہے

Commentary

آیت 19 یٰٓاَہْلَ الْکِتٰبِ قَدْ جَآءَ کُمْ رَسُوْلُنَا یُبَیِّنُ لَکُمْ عَلٰی فَتْرَۃٍ مِّنَ الرُّسُلِ حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام اورٌ محمد رسول اللہ ﷺ کے درمیان چھ سو برس ایسے گزرے ہیں کہ اس دوران دنیا میں کوئی نبی ‘ کوئی رسول نہیں رہا۔ اس وقفے کو اصطلاح میں ’ فترت ‘ کہا جاتا ہے۔ پھر حضور ﷺ کی بعثت ہوئی اور پھر اس کے بعد تاقیام قیامت رسالت کا دروازہ بند ہوگیا۔ اَنْ تَقُوْلُوْا مَا جَآءَ نَا مِنْم بَشِیْرٍ وَّلاَ نَذِیْرٍز فَقَدْ جَآءَ کُمْ بَشِیْرٌ وَّنَذِیْرٌ ط وَاللّٰہُ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ سورۃ النساء میں یہی بات اس انداز سے بیان ہوچکی ہے : رُسُلاً مُّبَشِّرِیْنَ وَمُنْذِرِیْنَ لِءَلاَّ یَکُوْنَ للنَّاسِ عَلَی اللّٰہِ حُجَّۃٌم بَعْدَ الرُّسُلِط وَکَان اللّٰہُ عَزِیْزًا حَکِیْمًا۔
