Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

تم سے پہلے ایک گروہ نے اِسی قسم کے سوالات کیے تھے، پھر وہ لوگ انہی باتوں کی وجہ سے کفر میں مُبتلا ہوگئے۔1

  1. یعنی پہلے انہوں نے خود ہی عقائد اور احکام میں موشگافیاں کیں اور ایک ایک چیز کے متعلق سوال کر کر کے تفصیلات اور قیُود کا ایک جال اپنے لیے تیار کرایا، پھر خود ہی اُس میں اُلجھ کر اعتقادی گمراہیوں اور عملی نافرمانیوں میں مبتلا ہو گئے۔۔۔۔۔۔ اِس گروہ سے مراد یہودی ہیں جن کے نقشِ قدم پر چلنے میں، قرآن اور محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی تنبیہات کے باوجود، مسلمانوں نے کوئی کسر اُٹھا نہیں رکھی ہے۔

تم سے پہلے ایک قوم (اہل کتاب) نے اس قسم کے سوالات کیے تھے اور پھر وہ ان کا انکار کرنے والے بن گئے تھے

Commentary

آیت 102 قَدْ سَاَلَہَا قَوْمٌ مِّنْ قَبْلِکُمْ ثُمَّ اَصْبَحُوْا بِہَا کٰفِرِیْنَ اب یہاں ان چار چیزوں کا ذکر آ رہا ہے جو ان کے ہاں خواہ مخواہ بہت زیادہ مقدس ہوگئی تھیں۔ یہ گویا اللہ تعالیٰ کے ان چار شعائر کے مقابلے کی چار چیزیں ہیں جن کا ذکر پیچھے آیت 97 میں ہوا ہے : جَعَلَ اللّٰہُ الْکَعْبَۃَ الْبَیْتَ الْحَرَامَ قِیٰمًا لِّلنَّاسِ وَالشَّہْرَ الْحَرَامَ وَالْہَدْیَ وَالْقَلَآءِدَ ط وہاں ان چار چیزوں کی توثیق کی گئی تھی کہ وہ واقعتاً اللہ کی شریعت کے اجزاء ہیں ‘ ان کا احترام اور ان کی حرمت کو ملحوظ رکھنا اہل ایمان پر لازم ہے۔ لیکن یہاں توجہ دلائی جا رہی ہے کہ کچھ چیزیں تمہارے ہاں ایسی رائج ہیں جو دور جاہلیت کے مشرکانہ اوہام کی یادگاریں ہیں۔ چناچہ فرمایا :
