- قُلْکہہ دیجیے
- لِّلْمُخَلَّفِیْنَپیچھے چھوڑے جانے والوں سے۔ رہ جانے والوں سے
- مِنَسے
- الْاَعْرَابِبدوؤں میں (سے)
- سَتُدْعَوْنَعنقریب تم بلائے جاؤ گے
- اِلٰیطرف
- قَوْمٍایک قوم کے
- اُولِیْوالی
- بَاْسٍقوت والی
- شَدِیْدٍسخت
- تُقَاتِلُوْنَهُمْتمہیں جنگ کرنا ہوگی ان سے
- اَوْیا
- یُسْلِمُوْنَ ۚوہ مطیع ہوجائیں گے
- فَاِنْپھر اگر
- تُطِیْعُوْاتم اطاعت کرو
- یُؤْتِكُمُدے گا تم کو
- اللّٰهُاللہ
- اَجْرًااجر
- حَسَنًا ۚاچھا
- وَاِنْاور اگر
- تَتَوَلَّوْاتم منہ موڑ گئے
- كَمَاجیسا کہ
- تَوَلَّیْتُمْتم نے منہ موڑا تھا
- مِّنْسے
- قَبْلُاس سے پہلے
- یُعَذِّبْكُمْوہ عذاب دے گا تم کو
- عَذَابًاعذاب
- اَلِیْمًادردناک

Translation and commentary
Tafheem-ul-Quran
ان پیچھے چھوڑے جانے والے بدوی عربوں سے کہنا کہ”عنقریب تمہیں ایسے لوگوں سے لڑنے کے لیے بلایا جائے گا جو بڑے زور آور ہیں۔ تم کو ان سے جنگ کرنی ہوگی یا وہ مطیع ہوجائیں گے۔1 اس وقت اگر تم نے حکم جہاد کی اطاعت کی تو اللہ تمہیں اچھا اجر دیگا، اور اگر تم پھر اسی طرح منہ موڑ گئے جس طرح پہلے موڑ چکے ہو تو اللہ تم کو درد ناک سزا دے گا

اصل الفاظ ہیں اَوْیُسْلِمُوْنَ ۔ اس کے دو معنی ہو سکتے ہیں اور دونوں ہی مراد ہیں۔ ایک یہ کہ وہ اسلام قبول کر لیں ۔ دوسرے یہ کہ وہ اسلامی حکومت کی اطاعت قبول کر لیں۔
