اور ذرا تذکرہ کیجیے قوم عاد کے بھائی (ہود (ؑ) کا جب اس نے خبردار کیا اپنی قوم کو احقاف میں اور اس سے پہلے بھی اور اس کے بعد بھی بہت سے خبردار کرنے والے گزر چکے تھے کہ مت عبادت کرو کسی کی سوائے اللہ کے مجھے اندیشہ ہے تم پر ایک بڑے دن کے عذاب کا

Commentary
آیت 21 { وَاذْکُرْ اَخَا عَادٍط اِذْ اَنْذَرَ قَوْمَہٗ بِالْاَحْقَافِ } ”اور ذرا تذکرہ کیجیے قوم عاد کے بھائی ہود علیہ السلام کا ‘ جب اس نے خبردار کیا اپنی قوم کو احقاف میں“ جزیرہ نمائے عرب کے جنوبی ساحلی علاقے کو پرانے زمانے میں ”احقاف“ کہا جاتا تھا جہاں قوم عاد آباد تھی ‘ اب یہ علاقہ لق و دق صحرا کی شکل اختیار کرچکا ہے۔ { وَقَدْ خَلَتِ النُّذُرُ مِنْم بَیْنِ یَدَیْہِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِہٖٓ} ”اور اس سے پہلے بھی اور اس کے بعد بھی بہت سے خبردار کرنے والے گزر چکے تھے“ یعنی ایسے خبردار کرنے والے اس سے پہلے بھی گزر چکے تھے اور اس کے بعد بھی آتے رہے۔ -۔ اللہ تعالیٰ کی اس سنت کے بارے میں قبل ازیں بھی کئی مرتبہ وضاحت کی جا چکی ہے کہ کسی قوم میں پہلے بہت سے انبیاء علیہ السلام بھیجے جاتے تھے اور پھر آخر میں اتمامِ حجت کے لیے ایک رسول علیہ السلام کو مبعوث کیا جاتا تھا۔ وہ سب کے سب ایک ہی دعوت دیتے تھے۔ { اَلَّا تَعْبُدُوْٓا اِلَّا اللّٰہَ } ”کہ مت عبادت کرو کسی کی سوائے اللہ کے !“ { اِنِّیْٓ اَخَافُ عَلَیْکُمْ عَذَابَ یَوْمٍ عَظِیْمٍ } ”مجھے اندیشہ ہے تم پر ایک بڑے دن کے عذاب کا۔“
