مگر ہمارا عذاب دیکھ لینے کے بعد ان کا ایمان اُن کے لیے کچھ بھی نافع نہ ہو سکتا تھا، کیونکہ یہی اللہ کا مقرر ضابطہ ہے جو ہمیشہ اس کے بندوں میں جاری رہا ہے،1 اورا س وقت کافر خسارے میں پڑ گئے

یہ کہ توبہ اور ایمان بس اسی وقت تک نافع ہیں جب تک آدمی اللہ کے عذاب کا موت کی گرفت میں نہ آ جاۓ۔ عذاب آ جانے یا موت کے آثار شروع ہو جانے کے بعد ایمان لانا یا تو بہ کرنا اللہ تعالیٰ کے ہاں مقبول نہیں ہے۔

Commentary
آیت 85 { فَلَمْ یَکُ یَنْفَعُہُمْ اِیْمَانُہُمْ لَمَّا رَاَوْا بَاْسَنَا } ”تو پھر ان کا ایمان لانا ان کے لیے ہرگز مفید نہیں ہوا جبکہ انہوں نے ہمارا عذاب دیکھ لیا۔“ عذاب کے واضح آثار سامنے آجانے کے بعد توبہ کا دروازہ بند ہوجاتا ہے اور ایسے وقت کا ایمان اللہ کے ہاں قابل قبول نہیں۔ یہ اللہ تعالیٰ کا اٹل قانون ہے اور اس قانون سے استثناء نوع انسانی کی پوری تاریخ میں صرف ایک ہی قوم کو ملا اور وہ تھی حضرت یونس علیہ السلام کی قوم۔ اس استثناء کا ذکر ہم سورة یونس کی آیت 98 میں پڑھ چکے ہیں۔ دراصل حضرت یونس علیہ السلام اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے ہجرت کی واضح اجازت آنے سے پہلے ہی اپنی قوم کو چھوڑ کر چلے گئے تھے۔ چناچہ نبی علیہ السلام کے کھاتے میں جو debit آیا وہ قوم کے لیے credit بن گیا۔ جدید اکائونٹنگ کے ماہرین خوب جانتے ہیں کہ ایک طرف کا debit دوسری طرف کا credit کیسے بن جاتا ہے۔ چناچہ حضرت یونس علیہ السلام کی قوم نے عذاب کے واضح آثار دیکھ لینے کے بعد توبہ کرلی اور ان کی یہ توبہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے قبول فرمالی۔ { سُنَّتَ اللّٰہِ الَّتِیْ قَدْ خَلَتْ فِیْ عِبَادِہٖج وَخَسِرَ ہُنَالِکَ الْکٰفِرُوْنَ } ”یہ اللہ کا وہ دستور ہے جو اس کے بندوں میں جاری رہا ہے ‘ اور اس وقت کافرلوگ خسارے میں رہے۔“ واقعہ یہ ہے کہ اصل خسارہ تو کافروں ہی کے لیے ہے۔
