یٰۤاَیُّهَااے لوگو
الَّذِیْنَجو
اٰمَنُوْاایمان لائے ہو
خُذُوْاپکڑ لو
حِذْرَكُمْبچاؤ اپنا
فَانْفِرُوْاپھر نکلو
ثُبَاتٍدستوں میں۔
اَوِیا
انْفِرُوْانکلو
جَمِیْعًاسارے کے سارے

اے لوگو جو ایمان لائے ہو، مقابلہ کے لیے ہر وقت تیار رہو،¹ پھر جیسا موقع ہو الگ الگ دستوں کی شکل میں نکلویا اکٹھے ہوکر

واضح رہے کہ یہ خطبہ اس زمانہ میں نازل ہوا تھا جب اُحُد کی شکست کی وجہ سے اطراف و نواح کے قبائل کی ہمتیں بڑھ گئیں تھیں اور مسلمان ہر طرف سے خطرات میں گھِر گئے تھے۔ آئے دن خبریں آتی رہتی تھیں کہ فلاں قبیلے کے تیور بگڑ رہے ہیں، فلاں قبیلہ دُشمنی پر آمادہ ہے، فلاں مقام پر حملہ کی تیاریاں ہو رہی ہیں۔ مسلمانوں کے ساتھ پے در پے غداریاں کی جا رہی تھیں۔ ان کے مبلّغین کو فریب سے دعوت دی جاتی تھی اور قتل کر دیا جاتا تھا۔ مدینہ کے حدُود سے باہر ان کے لیے جان و مال کی سلامتی باقی نہ رہی تھی۔ ان حالات میں مسلمانوں کی طرف سے ایک زبردست سعی و جہد اور سخت جاں فشانی کی ضرورت تھی تاکہ اِن خطرات کے ہجوم سے اسلام کی یہ تحریک مِٹ نہ جائے۔
