  2. مِّنْسے
  3. اَهْلِاہل
  4. الْكِتٰبِ(اہل) کتاب (میں سے کوئی)
  5. اِلَّامگر
  6. لَیُؤْمِنَنَّالبتہ وہ ضرور ایمان لائے گا
  7. بِهٖساتھ اس کے
  8. قَبْلَپہلے
  9. مَوْتِهٖ ۚاس کی موت سے
  10. وَیَوْمَاور دن
  11. الْقِیٰمَةِقیامت کے
  12. یَكُوْنُوہ ہوگا
  13. عَلَیْهِمْان پر
  14. شَهِیْدًاگواہ

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اور اہل کتاب میں سے کوئی ایسا نہ ہوگا جو اس کی موت سے پہلے اس پر ایمان نہ لے آئے گا1 اور قیامت کے روز وہ ان پر گواہی دے گا،2

  1. اِس فقرے  کے دو معنی بیان کیے گئے ہیں اور الفاظ میں دونوں کا یکساں احتمال ہے۔ ایک معنی وہ جو ہم نے ترجمہ میں اختیار کیا ہے۔ دُوسرے یہ کہ”اہلِ کتاب میں سے کوئی ایسا نہیں جو اپنی موت سے پہلے مسیح پر ایمان نہ لے آئے“۔ اہلِ کتاب سے مراد یہودی ہیں اور ہو سکتا ہے کہ عیسائی بھی ہوں۔ پہلے معنی  کے لحاظ سے مطلب یہ ہوگا کہ مسیح کی طبعی موت جب واقع ہوگی اس وقت جتنے اہلِ کتاب موجود ہوں گے وہ سب ان پر(یعنی ان کی رسالت پر ) ایمان لاچکے ہوں گے۔ دُوسرے معنی کے لحاظ سے مطلب یہ ہوگا کہ تمام اہلِ کتاب پر مرنے سے  عین قبل رسالتِ مسیح کی حقیقت منکشف ہو جاتی ہے اور وہ مسیح پر ایمان لے آتے ہیں، مگر یہ اس وقت ہوتا ہے جب کہ ایمان لانا مفید نہیں ہو سکتا۔ دونوں معنی  متعدّد صحابہ ، تابعین اور اکابر مفسّرین سے منقول ہیں اور صحیح مراد صرف اللہ ہی کے علم میں ہے۔

  2. یعنی یہُودیوں اور عیسائیوں نے مسیح علیہ السلام کے ساتھ اور اُس پیغام کے ساتھ، جو آپ لائے تھے ، جو معاملہ کیا ہے اس پر آپ خداوند تعالیٰ کی عدالت میں گواہی دیں گے۔ اس گواہی کی کچھ تفصیل آگے سُورۂ مائدہ کے آخری رکوع میں آنے والی ہے۔

Bayan-ul-Quran

اور نہیں ہوگا اہل کتاب میں سے کوئی بھی مگر اس پر ایمان لا کر رہے گا اس کی موت سے قبل اور قیامت کے دن وہی ان کے خلاف گواہ (بن کر کھڑا) ہوگا

Commentary

آیت 159 وَاِنْ مِّنْ اَہْلِ الْکِتٰبِ الاَّ لَیُؤْمِنَنَّ بِہٖ قَبْلَ مَوْتِہٖ ج یعنی حضرت مسیح علیہ السلام فوت نہیں ہوئے ‘ زندہ ہیں ‘ انہیں آسمان پر اٹھا لیا گیا تھا اور وہ دوبارہ زمین پر آئیں گے ‘ اور جب آئیں گے تو اہل کتاب میں سے کوئی شخص نہیں رہے گا کہ جو ان پر ایمان نہ لے آئے۔وَیَوْمَ الْقِیٰمَۃِ یَکُوْنُ عَلَیْہِمْ شَہِیْدًا یہ گواہی والامعاملہ وہی ہے جس کی تفصیل ہم آیت 41 میں پڑھ آئے ہیں : فَکَیْفَ اِذَا جِءْنَا مِنْ کُلِّ اُمَّۃٍم بِشَہِیْدٍ وَّجِءْنَا بِکَ عَلٰی ہٰٓؤُلَآءِ شَہِیْدًا 4 کہ ہر نبی کو اپنی امت کے خلاف گواہی دینی ہے۔ لہٰذا حضرت مسیح علیہ السلام اپنی امت کے خلاف گواہی دیں گے۔
