Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اور ان لوگوں پر طور کو اٹھا کر ان سے ( اس فرمان کی اطاعت کا)عہد لیا۔1 ہم نے ان کو حکم دیا کہ دروازہ میں سجدہ ریز ہوتے ہوئے داخل ہو۔2 ہم نے ان سے کہا کہ سَبت کا قانون نہ توڑو اور اس پر اِن سےپختہ عہد لیا۔3

  1. صریح فرمان سے مراد وہ احکام ہیں جو حضرت موسیٰ علیہ السّلام کو تختیوں پر لکھ کر دیے گئے تھے ۔ سُورۂ اعراف ، رکوع 17 میں اس کا ذکر زیادہ تفصیل کے ساتھ آئے گا۔ اور عہد سے مراد وہ میثاق ہے جو کوہِ طور کے دامن میں بنی اسرائیل کے نمائندوں سے لیا گیا تھا۔ سُورۂ بقرہ آیت ۶3 میں اس کا ذکر گزر چکا ہے اور اعراف آیت 171 میں پھر اس کی طرف اشارہ آئے گا۔

اور ہم نے ان کے سروں پر معلق کردیا تھا طور پہاڑ کو جب کہ ان سے عہد لیا جا رہا تھا اور ہم نے ان سے کہا کہ دروازے میں داخل ہوں جھک کر اور ہم نے ان سے (یہ بھی) کہا تھا کہ سبت (ہفتے کے دن کے قانون) میں حد سے تجاوز نہ کرنا اور ہم نے ان سے (ان تمام باتوں کے بارے میں) بڑے گاڑھے قول وقرار لیے تھے

Commentary

آیت 154 وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَہُمُ الطُّوْرَ بِمِیْثَاقِہِمْ وَقُلْنَا لَہُمُ ادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا یعنی جب اریحا Jericho شہر تمہارے ہاتھوں فتح ہوجائے اور اس میں داخل ہونے کا مرحلہ آئے تو اپنے سروں کو جھکا کر عاجزی کے ساتھ داخل ہونا۔
