کیا انہوں نے دیکھا نہیں کہ ان سے پہلے کتنی ہی قوموں کو ہم ہلاک کر چکے ہیں اور اس کے بعد وہ پھر کبھی ان کی طرف پلٹ کر نہ آئے؟1

یعنی ایسے مٹے کہ ان کا کہیں نام و نشان تک باقی نہ رہا۔ جو گِرا پھر نہ اٹھا۔ دنیا میں آج کوئی ان کا نام لیوا تک نہیں ہے ۔ ان کی تہذیب اور ان کے تمدّن ہی کا نہیں، ان کی نسلوں کا بھی خاتمہ ہو گیا۔
