تو انہوں نے اعراض کیا چناچہ ہم نے بھیج دیا ان پر سیلاب بہت زور کا اور ہم نے بدل دیے ان کے دو باغوں کی جگہ دو اور باغ جن میں کڑوے کسیلے پھل جھائو کے درخت اور کچھ تھوڑی سی بیریاں تھیں۔

Commentary
آیت 16 { فَاَعْرَضُوْا فَاَرْسَلْنَا عَلَیْہِمْ سَیْلَ الْعَرِمِ } ”تو انہوں نے اعراض کیا ‘ چناچہ ہم نے بھیج دیا ان پر سیلاب بہت زور کا“ اس قوم نے اللہ کی نعمتوں کی ناشکری کی اور اعراض و سرکشی کی روش اختیار کی تو ان پر اللہ کا عذاب اس انداز سے آیا کہ ایک عظیم سیلاب نے ان کے بند کو توڑ دیا جس سے ان کی بستیاں تباہ ہوگئیں اور ان کے باغات کے سلسلے بھی برباد ہوگئے۔ { وَبَدَّلْنٰـہُمْ بِجَنَّتَیْہِمْ جَنَّـتَیْنِ ذَوَاتَیْ اُکُلٍ خَمْطٍ وَّاَثْلٍ وَّشَیْئٍ مِّنْ سِدْرٍ قَلِیْلٍ } ”اور ہم نے بدل دیے ان کے دو باغوں کی جگہ دو اور باغ ‘ جن میں کڑوے کسیلے پھل ‘ جھائو کے درخت اور کچھ تھوڑی سی بیریاں تھیں۔“
