Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اے نبیؐ ! ان سے کہو، اگر تم موت یا قتل سے بھاگو تو یہ بھاگنا تمہارے لیے کچھ بھی نفع بخش نہ ہوگا۔ اس کے بعد زندگی کے مزے لُوٹنے کا تھوڑا ہی موقع مل سکے گا۔1

  1. یعنی اِس فرار سے کچھ تمہاری عمر بڑھ نہیں جائے گی۔ اس کا نتیجہ بہر حال یہ نہیں ہو گا کہ تم قیامت تک جیو اور روئے زمین کی دولت پالو۔ بھاگ کر جیو گے بھی تو زیادہ سے زیادہ چند سال ہی جیو گے اور اُتنا ہی کچھ دنیا کی زندگی کا لطف اُٹھا سکو گے جتنا تمہارے لیے مقدّر ہے۔

Bayan-ul-Quran

(اے نبی ﷺ ! ان سے) کہہ دیجیے کہ تمہارا یہ بھاگنا تمہیں کوئی فائدہ نہیں پہنچائے گا اگر تم لوگ موت یا قتل سے بھاگ رہے ہو اور (اگر بھاگو گے) تب بھی تم (زندگی کے سازوسامان سے) فائدہ نہیں اٹھا سکو گے مگر تھوڑا سا۔

Commentary

آیت 16{ قُلْ لَّنْ یَّنْفَعَکُمُ الْفِرَارُ اِنْ فَرَرْتُمْ مِّنَ الْمَوْتِ اَوِ الْقَتْلِ } ”اے نبی ﷺ ! ان سے کہہ دیجیے کہ تمہارا یہ بھاگنا تمہیں کوئی فائدہ نہیں پہنچائے گا ‘ اگر تم لوگ موت یا قتل سے بھاگ رہے ہو“ موت سے بھلا کوئی کیسے بھاگ سکتا ہے ؟ موت تو ہر جگہ اپنے شکار کا پیچھا کرسکتی ہے۔ { وَاِذًا لَّا تُمَتَّعُوْنَ اِلَّا قَلِیْلًا } ”اور اگر بھاگو گے تب بھی تم زندگی کے سازوسامان سے فائدہ نہیں اٹھا سکو گے مگر تھوڑا سا۔“ اگر وقتی طور پر کوئی شخص ایک جگہ سے بھاگ کر اپنی جان بچا نے میں کامیاب ہو بھی جائے تو بھی وہ ہمیشہ کے لیے محفوظ تو نہیں ہوسکتا۔ اس کی یہ کوشش اسے اس سے زیادہ بھلا کیا فائدہ پہنچا سکتی ہے کہ کچھ عرصہ وہ مزید جی لے گا۔ آخر ایک نہ ایک دن تو اسے موت کے منہ میں جانا ہی ہے۔ وہ دنیا کی زندگی کا بس اسی قدر لطف اٹھا سکتا ہے جتنا اس کے لیے مقدر ہے۔
