Translation and commentary
Tafheem-ul-Quran
جب ہم لوگوں کو رحمت کا ذائقہ چکھاتے ہیں تو وہ اس پر پھول جاتے ہیں اور جب ان کے اپنے کیے کرتوتوں سے ان پر کوئی مصیبت آتی ہے تو یکایک وہ مایوس ہونے لگتے ہیں۔1

اوپر کی آیت میں انسان کی جہالت و حماقت اور اس کی ناشکری و نمک حرامی پر گرفت تھی۔ اِس آیت میں اس کے چھچھورے پن اور کم ظرفی پر گرفت کی گئی ہے۔ اِس تھُڑ دلے کو جب دنیا میں کچھ دولت ، طاقت ، عزت نصیب ہوجاتی ہے اور یہ دیکھتا ہے کہ اِس کا کام خوب چل رہا ہے تو اسے یاد نہیں رہتا کہ یہ سب کچھ اللہ کا دیا ہے۔ یہ سمجھتا ہے کہ میرے ہی کچھ سرخاب کے پر لگے ہوئے ہیں جو مجھے وہ کچھ میسری ہُوا جس سے دوسرے محروم ہیں۔ اس غلط فہمی میں فخر و غرور کا نشہ اس پر ایسا چڑھتا ہے کہ پھر یہ نہ خدا کو خاطر میں لاتا ہے نہ خلق کو۔ لیکن جونہی کہ اقبال نے منہ موڑا اِس کی ہمت جواب دے جاتی ہے اور بدنصیبی کی ایک ہی چوٹ اس پر دل شکستگی کی وہ کیفیت طاری کر دیتی ہے ج میں یہ ہر ذلیل سے ذلیل حرکت کر گزرتا ہے ، حتیٰ کہ خود کشی تک کر جاتا ہے۔

وَاِنْ تُصِبْہُمْ سَیِّءَۃٌم بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ اَیْدِیْہِمْ اِذَا ہُمْ یَقْنَطُوْنَ ”موافق حالات میں تو یہ لوگ اپنی کامیابیوں پر پھولے نہیں سماتے ‘ لیکن اگر ان کے اپنے ہی کرتوتوں کے سبب کبھی ان پر برا وقت آجاتا ہے تو مایوسی سے گویا ان کی کمر ہی ٹوٹ جاتی ہے۔
