Commentary
آیت 53 رَبَّنَآ اٰمَنَّا بِمَآ اَنْزَلْتَ وَاتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُوْلَ فَاکْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشّٰہِدِیْنَ یہی لفظ گواہاب عیسائیوں کے ایک خاص فرقے کی طرف سے Jehovas Witnesses اختیار کیا گیا ہے۔ لفظ یھوہ Jehova عبرانی میں خدا کے لیے آتا ہے۔ یعنی یہ لوگ اپنے آپ کو خدا کے گواہکہتے ہیں۔ سورة البقرۃ کی آیت 143 ہم پڑھ آئے ہیں : وَکَذٰلِکَ جَعَلْنٰٹکُمْ اُمَّۃً وَّسَطًا لِّتَکُوْنُوْا شُہَدَآءَ عَلَی النَّاسِ وَیَکُوْنَ الرَّسُوْلُ عَلَیْکُمْ شَہِیْدًا ط اور اے مسلمانو ! اسی طرح تو ہم نے تمہیں ایک امت وسط بنایا ہے تاکہ تم لوگوں پر گواہ ہو اور رسول ﷺ ‘ تم پر گواہ ہو۔ تو یہ لفظ شاہد گواہ قدیم ہے اور اسلامی حکمت اور اسلام کی مصطلحات میں اس کی ایک حیثیت ہے۔
