  1. قَالَکہا
  2. رَبِّاے میرے رب

  9. تُكَلِّمَتو کلام کرے گا
  10. النَّاسَلوگوں سے
  11. ثَلٰثَةَتین
  12. اَیَّامٍدن
  13. اِلَّامگر
  14. رَمْزًا ؕاشارے سے
  15. وَاذْكُرْاور تم یاد کرو
  16. رَّبَّكَاپنے رب کو
  17. كَثِیْرًابہت زیادہ
  18. وَّسَبِّحْاورتسبیح کرو
  19. بِالْعَشِیِّشام کے وقت
  20. وَالْاِبْكَارِاور صبح کے وقت

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

عرض کیا مالک! پھر کوئی نشانی میرے لیے مقرر فرما دے۔کہا”1 نشانی یہ ہے کہ تم تین دن تک لوگوں سے اشارہ کے سوا کوئی بات چیت نہ کرو گے(یا نہ کر سکو گے)۔ اِس دوران میں اپنے رب کو بہت یاد کرنا اور صبح وشام اس کی تسبیح کرتے رہنا“۔2

  1. یعنی ایسی علامت بتا دے کہ جب ایک پیرِ فرتوت اور ایک بوڑھی بانجھ کے ہاں لڑکے کی ولادت جیسا عجیب غیر معمُولی واقعہ پیش آنے والا ہو تو اس کی اطلاع مجھے پہلے سے ہو جائے۔

  2. اس تقریر کا اصل مقصد عیسائیوں پر ان کے اِس عقیدے کی غلطی واضح کرنا ہے  کہ وہ مسیح علیہ السّلام کو خدا کا بیٹا اور الٰہ سمجھتے ہیں۔ تمہید میں حضرت یحییٰ علیہ السّلا م کا ذکر اس وجہ سے فرمایا گیا ہے کہ جس طرح مسیح علیہ السّلام کی ولادت معجزانہ طور پر ہوئی تھی اُسی طرح اُن سے چھ ہی مہینہ پہلے اُسی خاندان میں حضرت یحییٰ کی پیدائش بھی ایک دُوسری طرح کے معجزے سے ہو چکی تھی۔ اس سے اللہ تعالیٰ عیسائیوں کو یہ سمجھانا چاہتا ہے کہ اگر یحیی ٰ  ؑ  کو ان کی اعجازی ولادت نے الہٰ نہیں بنایا تو مسیح  ؑ محض اپنی غیر معمولی پیدائش کے بل پر الٰہ کیسے ہو سکتے ہیں۔

انہوں نے عرض کیا : پروردگار ! میرے (اطمینان کے) لیے کوئی نشانی مقرر کردیں (اللہ نے) فرمایا : تمہارے لیے نشانی یہ ہے کہ اب تم تین دن تک لوگوں سے گفتگو نہیں کرسکو گے سوائے اشارے کنائے کے اور (اپنے دل میں) اپنے رب کو کثرت سے یاد کرتے رہو اور تسبیح کیا کرو شام کے وقت بھی اور صبح کے وقت بھی

Commentary

آیت 41 قَالَ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ لِّیْ اٰیَۃً ط۔مجھے معلوم ہوجائے کہ واقعی ایسا ہونا ہے اور یہ کلام جو میں سن رہا ہوں واقعتا تیری طرف سے ہے۔ قَالَ اٰیَتُکَ اَلاَّ تُکَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلٰثَۃَ اَیَّامٍ الاَّ رَمْزًا ط۔یعنی ان کی قوت گویائی سلب ہوگئی اور اب وہ تین دن کسی سے بات نہیں کرسکتے تھے۔
