Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

یہ حال دیکھ کر زکریا نے اپنے رب کو پکارا”پروردگار! اپنی قدرت سے مجھے نیک اولاد عطا کر۔ تُو ہی دُعا سننے والا ہے“۔1

  1. 37           حضرت زکریّا اس وقت تک بے اولاد تھا۔ اس نوجوان صالحہ لڑکی کو دیکھ کر فطرةً ان کے دل میں  یہ تمنّا پیدا ہوئی کہ کاش ، اللہ انہیں بھی ایسی ہی نیک اولاد عطا کرے، اور یہ دیکھ کر کہ اللہ کس طرح اپنی قدرت سے اس گوشہ نشین لڑکی کو رزق پہنچا رہا ہے، انہیں یہ اُمید ہوئی کہ اللہ چاہے، تو اس  بڑھاپے میں بھی ان کو اولاد دے سکتا ہے۔

(حضرت زکریا ؑ کو یہ مشاہدہ ہوا تو انہوں نے) اسی وقت اپنے پروردگار سے ایک دعا کی انہوں نے کہا : اے میرے ربّ ! تو مجھے بھی اپنی جناب سے کوئی پاکیزہ اولاد عطا فرما دے یقیناً تو دعا کا سننے والا ہے

Commentary

آیت 38 ہُنَالِکَ دَعَا زَکَرِیَّا رَبَّہٗ ج قَالَ رَبِّ ہَبْ لِیْ مِنْ لَّدُنْکَ ذُرِّیَّۃً طَیِّبَۃً ج حضرت زکریا علیہ السلام بہت بوڑھے ہوچکے تھے ‘ ان کی اہلیہ بھی بہت بوڑھی ہوچکی تھیں اور ساری عمر بانجھ رہی تھیں اور ان کے ہاں کوئی اولاد نہیں ہوئی تھی۔ یہ مضامین سورة مریم میں زیادہ تفصیل کے ساتھ بیان ہوئے ہیں۔ مکی دور میں جبکہ مسلمان ہجرت حبشہ کے لیے گئے تھے ‘ تو وہاں جا کر نجاشی کے دربار میں حضرت جعفر رض بن ابی طالب نے سورة مریم کی آیات پڑھ کر سنائی تھیں۔ اس مناسبت سے یہ مضامین سورة مریم میں بھی ملتے ہیں۔ حضرت زکریا علیہ السلام ساری عمر بےاولاد رہے تھے ‘ لیکن حضرت مریم علیہ السلام کے پاس اللہ تعالیٰ کی قدرت کا مشاہدہ کرنے کے بعد اولاد کی جو خواہش ان کے اندر دبی ہوئی تھی وہ چنگاری دفعۃً بھڑک اٹھی۔ انہوں نے عرض کیا کہ اے اللہ ! تو اس بچی کو یہ سب کچھ دے سکتا ہے تو اپنی قدرت سے مجھے بھی پاکیزہ اولاد عطا فرما دے !
