  2. تَحْسَبَنَّتم خیال کرو
  3. الَّذِیْنَان لوگوں کو
  4. یَفْرَحُوْنَجو خوش ہورہے ہیں
  5. بِمَاۤساتھ اس کے جو
  6. اَتَوْاوہ لائے
  7. وَّیُحِبُّوْنَاور وہ محبت رکھتے ہیں۔ چاہتے ہیں
  8. اَنْکہ
  9. یُّحْمَدُوْاوہ تعریف کیے جائیں
  10. بِمَاساتھ اس کے جو
  11. لَمْنہیں
  12. یَفْعَلُوْاانہوں نے کیا
  13. فَلَاتو نہ
  14. تَحْسَبَنَّهُمْتم خیال کرو ان کو۔ تم گمان کرو ان کو
  15. بِمَفَازَةٍکامیاب ہونا
  16. مِّنَسے
  17. الْعَذَابِ ۚعذاب
  18. وَلَهُمْاور ان کے لیے
  19. عَذَابٌعذاب ہے
  20. اَلِیْمٌدردناک

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

تم ان لوگوں کو عذاب سے محفوظ نہ سمجھو جو اپنے کرتُوتوں پر خوش ہیں اور چاہتے ہیں کہ ایسے کاموں کی تعریف انھیں حاصل ہو جوفی الواقع انہوں نےنہیں کیے ہیں۔1 حقیقت میں ان کے لیے درد ناک سزا تیار ہے

  1. مثلاً وہ اپنی تعریف  میں یہ سُننا چاہتے ہیں کہ حضرت بڑے متقی ہیں، دیندار اور پارسا ہیں، خادمِ دین ہیں، حامیِ شرع متین ہیں، مُصلح و مزکّی ہیں، حالانکہ حضرت کچھ بھی نہیں۔ یا اپنے حق میں یہ ڈھنڈورا پٹوانا چاہتے ہیں کہ فلاں صاحب بڑے ایثار پیشہ اور مخلص اور دیانت دار رہنما ہیں اور انہوں نے مِلّت کی بڑی خدمت کی ہے، حالانکہ معاملہ بالکل برعکس ہے۔

Bayan-ul-Quran

آپ ان کے بارے میں خیال نہ کریں جو اپنے کیے پر خوش ہوتے ہیں اور (اس سے بھی بڑھ کر) چاہتے ہیں کہ ان کی تعریف کی جائے ایسے کاموں پر جو انہوں نے کیے ہی نہیں اور ان کے لیے دردناک عذاب ہے

Commentary (one passage for ayahs 3:188, 3:189)

آیت 188 لاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِیْنَ یَفْرَحُوْنَ بِمَآ اَتَوْا اگر کچھ نیکی کرلیتے ہیں ‘ کسی کو کچھ دے دیتے ہیں تو اس پر بہت اتراتے ہیں ‘ اکڑتے ہیں کہ ہم نے یہ کچھ کرلیا ہے۔وَّیُحِبُّوْنَ اَنْ یُّحْمَدُوْا بِمَا لَمْ یَفْعَلُوْاص آج کل اس کی سب سے بڑی مثال سپاس نامے ہیں ‘ جو تقریبات میں مدعو شخصیات کو پیش کیے جاتے ہیں۔ ان سپاس ناموں میں ان حضرات کے ایسے ایسے کارہائے نمایاں بیان کیے جاتے ہیں جو ان کی پشتوں میں سے بھی کسی نے نہ کیے ہوں۔ اس طرح ان کی خوشامد اور چاپلوسی کی جاتی ہے اور وہ اسے پسند کرتے ہیں۔ فَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّہُمْ بِمَفَازَۃٍ مِّنَ الْعَذَابِ ج تو ان کے بارے میں یہ خیال نہ کریں کہ وہ عذاب سے بچ جائیں گے۔
