Surah 29, ayah 37

  1. فَكَذَّبُوْهُتو انہوں نے جھٹلادیا اس کو
  2. فَاَخَذَتْهُمُتو پکڑ لیا ان کو
  3. الرَّجْفَةُایک زلزلے نے
  4. فَاَصْبَحُوْاتو ہوگئے وہ
  5. فِیْمیں
  6. دَارِهِمْاپنے گھروں (میں)
  7. جٰثِمِیْنَگھنٹوں کے بل گرنے والے

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

مگر انہوں نے اسے جھُٹلا دیا۔1 آخر کار ایک سخت زلزلے نے انہیں آلیا اور وہ اپنے گھروں میں2 پڑے کے پڑے رہ گئے

  1. یعنی اس بات کو تسلیم نہ کیا  کہ حضرت شعیب ؑ اللہ کے رسول ہیں، اور یہ تعلیم جو وہ دے رہے ہیں یہ اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے ہے، اور اس کو نہ ماننے کا نتیجہ انہیں عذاب ِ الہٰی کی شکل میں بھگتنا ہو گا۔

  2. گھر سے مراد وہ پورا علاقہ ہے جس میں یہ قوم رہتی تھی۔ ظاہر ہے کہ جب ایک پوری قوم کا ذکر ہو رہا ہو تو اس کا گھر اس کا ملک ہی ہو سکتا ہے۔

تو انہوں نے اسے جھٹلا دیا چناچہ انہیں آپکڑا زلزلے نے تو وہ رہ گئے اپنے گھروں کے اندر اوندھے گرے ہوئے

آیت 35 وَلَقَدْ تَّرَکْنَا مِنْہَآ اٰیَۃًَم بَیِّنَۃً لِّقَوْمٍ یَّعْقِلُوْنَ ” قوم لوط کی بستی کے کھنڈرات قریش کی تجارتی شاہراہ پر موجود تھے ‘ لہٰذا قرآن میں اہل مکہ کو بار بار مخاطب کر کے یاد دلایا گیا ہے کہ تم لوگ ان عذاب زدہ بستیوں کے کھنڈرات پر سے گزرتے ہو اور پھر بھی عبرت حاصل نہیں کرتے ہو ! اس کے علاوہ بحیرۂ مردار جسے بحر لوط بھی کہا جاتا ہے بھی قوم لوط کی بربادی کی کھلی نشانی ہے۔
