  1. وَمَااور نہ
  2. كَانَتھا
  3. رَبُّكَتیرا رب
  4. مُهْلِكَہلاک کرنے والے
  5. الْقُرٰیبستیوں کو
  6. حَتّٰییہاں تک کہ
  7. یَبْعَثَبھیج دے
  8. فِیْۤمیں
  9. اُمِّهَاان کے مرکز (میں)
  10. رَسُوْلًاکوئی رسول
  11. یَّتْلُوْاجو پڑھتا ہو
  12. عَلَیْهِمْان پر
  13. اٰیٰتِنَا ۚہماری آیات
  14. وَمَااور نہ
  15. كُنَّاتھے ہم
  16. مُهْلِكِیہلاک کرنے والے
  17. الْقُرٰۤیبستیوں کو
  18. اِلَّامگر اس حال میں کہ
  19. وَاَهْلُهَااس کے رہنے والے
  20. ظٰلِمُوْنَظالم ہوں

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اور تیرا ربّ بستیوں کو ہلاک کرنے والا نہ تھا جب تک کہ ان کے مرکز میں ایک رسُول نہ بھیج دیتا جو ان کو ہماری آیات سُناتا۔ اور ہم بستیوں کو ہلاک کرنے والے نہ تھے جب تک کہ  ان کے رہنے والے ظالم نہ ہو جاتے۔1

  1. یہ ان کے عذر کا تیسرا جواب ہے۔ پہلے جو قومیں تباہ ہوئیں ان کے لوگ ظالم ہو چکے تھے ، مگر خدا نے ان کو تباہ کرنے سے پہلے اپنے رسول بھیج کر انہیں متنبہ کیا، اور جب ان کی تنبیہ پر بھی وہ اپنی کج رہی سے باز نہ آئے تو انہیں ہلاک کر دیا ۔ یہی معاملہ اب تمہیں در پیش ہے۔ تم بھی ظالم ہو چکے ہو، اور ایک رسول تمہیں بھی متنبہ کرنے کے لیے آگیا ہے۔ اب تم کفر و انکار کی روش اختیار کر کے اپنے عیش اور اپنی خوشحالی کو بچاؤ گے نہیں بلکہ اُلٹا خطرے  میں ڈالو گے۔ جس تباہی کا تمہیں اندیشہ ہے وہ ایمان لانے سے نہیں بلکہ انکار کرنے سے تم پر آئے گی۔
