وَاسْتَكْبَرَاور اس نے تکبر کیا
هُوَاس نے
وَجُنُوْدُهٗاور اس کے لشکروں نے
فِیمیں
الْاَرْضِزمین (میں)
بِغَیْرِنا
الْحَقِّحق
وَظَنُّوْۤااور وہ سمجھے تھے
اَنَّهُمْبیشک وہ
اِلَیْنَاہماری طرف
لَانہ
یُرْجَعُوْنَلوٹائے جائیں گے
۟

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

اُس نے اور اُس کے لشکروں نے زمین میں بغیر کسی حق کے اپنی بڑائی کا گھمنڈ کیا¹ اور سمجھے کہ اُنہیں کبھی ہماری طرف پلٹنا نہیں ہے۔²

یعنی بڑائی کا حق تو اس کائنات میں صرف اللہ رب العالمین کو ہے ۔ مگر فرعون اور اس کے لشکر زمین کے ایک ذرا سے خطے میں تھوڑا سا اقتدار پا کر یہ سمجھ بیٹھے کہ یہاں بڑے بس وہی ہیں۔
یعنی انہوں نے اپنے آپ کو غیر مسئول سمجھ لیا اور یہ فرض کر کے خود مختارا نہ کام کرنے لگے کہ انہیں جا کر کسی کے سامنے جواب دہی نہیں کرنی ہے ۔
