تم مُردوں کو نہیں سُنا سکتے1، نہ اُن بہروں تک اپنی پکار پہنچا سکتے ہو جو پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگے جا رہے ہوں2

یعنی ایسے لوگوں کو جن کے ضمیر مر چکے ہیں اور جن میں ضد اور ہٹ دھرمی اور رسم پرستی نے حق و باطل کا فرق سمجھنے کی کوئی صلاحیت باقی نہیں چھوڑ ی ہے۔

یعنی جو تمہاری بات کے لیے صرف اپنے کان بند کر لینے پر ہی اکتفا نہیں کرتے بلکہ اُس جگہ سے کترا کر نکل جاتے ہیں جہاں انہیں اندیشہ ہوتا ہے کہ کہیں تمہاری بات ان کے کان میں نہ پڑجائے۔
