Surah 26, ayah 74

  1. قَالُوْاانہوں نے کہا
  2. بَلْبلکہ
  3. وَجَدْنَاۤپایا ہم نے
  4. اٰبَآءَنَااپنے آباؤ اجداد کو
  5. كَذٰلِكَاسی طرح
  6. یَفْعَلُوْنَوہ کرتے تھے

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

انہوں نے جواب دیا”نہیں، بلکہ ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو ایسا ہی کرتے پایا ہے۔“1

  1. یعنی ہماری اس عبادت کی وجہ یہ نہیں ہے کہ یہ ہماری مناجاتیں اور دعائیں اور فریادیں سنتے ہیں یا ہمیں نفع اور نقصان پہنچاتے ہیں اس لیے ہم نے ان کو پوجنا شروع کر دیا ہے ، بلکہ اصل وجہ اس عبادت کی یہ ہے کہ باپ دادا کے وقتوں سے یوں ہی ہوتا چلا آ رہا ہے۔ اس طرح انہوں نے خود یہ اعتراف کر لیا کہ ان کے مذہب کے لیے باپ دادا کی اندھی تقلید کے سوا کوئی سند نہیں ہے۔ دوسرے الفاظ میں گویا وہ یہ کہہ رہے تھے کہ آخر تم نئی بات ہمیں کیا بتانے چلے ہو؟ کیا ہم خود نہیں دیکھتے کہ یہ لکڑی اور پتھر کی مورتیں ہیں ؟ کیا ہم نہیں جانتے کہ لکڑیاں سنا نہیں کرتیں اور پتھر کسی کا کام بنانے یا بگاڑنے کے لیے نہیں اٹھا کرتے ؟ مگر یہ ہمارے بزرگ جو صدیوں سے نسلاً بعد نسل ان کی پوجا کرتے چلے آ رہے ہیں تو کیا وہ سب تمہارے نزدیک بے وقوف تھے ؟ ضرور کوئی وجہ ہو گی کہ وہ ان نے جان مورتیوں کی پوجا کرتے رہے۔ لہٰذا ہم بھی ان کے اعتماد پر یہ کام کر رہے ہیں۔
