Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

موسیٰؑ نے جواب دیا”اُس وقت وہ کام میں نے نا دانستگی میں کر دیا تھا۔1

  1.  اصل الفاظ ہیں : وَاَنَا مِنَ الضَّآ لِّیْنَ، ’’ میں اس وقت ضلالت میں تھا‘‘۔ یا  ’’ میں نے اس وقت یہ کام ضلالت کی حالت میں کیا تھا‘‘۔ یہ لفظ ضلالت لازماً ’’گمراہی‘‘ کا ہی ہم معنی نہیں ہے۔ بلکہ عربی زبان میں اسے نا واقفیت، نادانی، خطا، نسیان، نادانستگی وغیرہ معنوں میں بھی استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔ جو واقعہ سورہ قصص میں بیان ہوا ہے اس پر غور کنے سے یہاں ضلالت بمعنی خطا یا نا دانستگی ہی لینا زیادہ صحیح ہے۔ حضرت موسیٰ نے اس قبطی کو ایک اسرائلی پر ظلم کرتے دیکھ کر صرف ایک گھونسا مارا تھا۔ ظاہر ہے کہ گھونسے سے بالعموم آدمی مرتا نہیں ہے ، نہ قتل کی نیت سے گھونسا مارا جاتا ہے۔ اتفاق کی بات ہے کہ اس سے وہ شخص مرگیا۔ اس لیے صحیح صورت واقعہ یہی ہے کہ یہ قتل عمد نہیں بلکہ قتل خطا تھا۔ قتل ہوا ضرور، مگر بالارادہ قتل کی نیت سے نہیں ہوا، نہ کوئی ایسا آلہ یا ذریعہ استعمال کیا گیا جو قتل کی غرض سے استعمال کیا جاتا ہے یا جس سے قتل واقع ہونے کی توقع کی جا سکتی ہے۔

موسیٰ ؑ ٰ نے کہا : میں نے وہ تب کیا تھا جب کہ میں ناواقفوں میں سے تھا

Commentary

آیت 20 قَالَ فَعَلْتُہَآ اِذًا وَّاَنَا مِنَ الضَّآلِّیْنَ ”یعنی یہ فعل مجھ سے نادانستگی میں ہوا تھا اور اس وقت میں ابھی حقیقت سے ناآشنا بھی تھا۔ ابھی رسالت اور نبوت مجھے نہیں ملی تھی اور میں خود تلاش حقیقت میں سرگرداں تھا۔ لفظ ”الضّال“ کے دو مفاہیم کے بارے میں سورة الفاتحہ کے مطالعے کے دوران وضاحت کی جا چکی ہے۔ اس لفظ کے ایک معنی تو راستے سے بھٹک جانے والے اور غلط فہمی کی بنا پر کوئی غلط راستہ اختیار کرلینے والے کے ہیں ‘ لیکن اس کے علاوہ جو شخص ابھی درست راستے کی تلاش میں سرگرداں ہو اس پر بھی اس لفظ کا اطلاق ہوتا ہے اور اسی مفہوم میں یہ لفظ سورة الضحیٰ کی اس آیت میں حضور ﷺ کے لیے استعمال ہوا ہے : وَوَجَدَکَ ضَآلًّا فَہَدٰی کہ ہم نے آپ ﷺ کو تلاش حقیقت میں سرگرداں پایا تو راہنمائی فرما دی !
