Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

انہوں نے اُسے جھُٹلا دیا، آخر کارچھتری والے دن کا عذاب ان پر آگیا1 ، اور وہ بڑے ہی خوفناک دن کا عذاب تھ

  1.  اس عذاب کی کوئی تفصیل قرآن مجید میں یا کسی صحیح حدیث میں مذکور نہیں ہے۔ ظاہر الفاظ سے جو بات سمجھ میں آتی ہے وہ یہ ہے کہ ان لوگوں نے چونکہ آسمانی عذاب مانگا تھا اس لیے اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان پر ایک بادل بھیج دیا اور وہ چھتری کی طرح ان پر اس وقت تک چھایا رہا جب تک باران عذاب نے کو بالکل تباہ نہ کر دیا۔ قرآن سے یہ بات صاف معلوم ہوتی ہے کہ اصحاب مدین کے عذاب کی کیفیت اصحاب الایکہ کے عذاب سے مختلف تھی۔ یہ جیسا کہ یہاں بتایا گیا ہے ، چھتری والے عذاب سے ہلاک ہوئے ، اور ان پر عذاب ایک دھماکے اور زلزلے کی شکل میں آیا (فَاَخَذَ تْھُمُ الرَّجْفَۃُ فَاَصْبَحُوْ فِیْ دَارِھِمْ جٰثِمِیْنَ، اور وَاَخَذَ تِ الَّذِیْنَ ظَلَمُوْا الصَّیْحَۃُ فَاَصْبَحُوْا فِیْ دَارِ ھِمْ جٰثِمِیْنَ  O )۔ اس لیے ان دونوں کو ملا کر ایک داستاں بنانے کی کوشش درست نہیں ہے۔ بعض مفسرین نے عذاب یوم الظُّلہ کی کچھ تشریحات بیان کی ہیں ، مگر ہمیں نہیں معلوم کہ ان کی معلومات کا ماخذ کیا ہے۔ ابن جریر نے حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس کا یہ قول نقل کیا ہے۔ کہ من حدث ک من العلماء ما عذاب یوم الظلۃ فکذبہ، ’’ علماء میں سے جو کوئی تم سے بیان کرے کہ یوم الظُّلہ کا عذاب کیا تھا اس کو درست نہ سمجھو‘‘۔

آیت 189 فَکَذَّبُوْہُ فَاَخَذَہُمْ عَذَابُ یَوْمِ الظُّلَّۃِ ط ”یوں لگتا ہے جیسے اس قوم پر پہلے اوپر سے کوئی عذاب آیا تھا اور ان پر سائبان کی طرح چھا گیا تھا۔
