  1. اَفَحَسِبْتُمْکیا بھلا سمجھا تھا تم نے
  2. اَنَّمَابیشک
  3. خَلَقْنٰكُمْپیدا کیا ہم نے تم کو
  4. عَبَثًابیکار
  5. وَّاَنَّكُمْاور بیشک تم
  6. اِلَیْنَاہماری طرف
  7. لَانہ
  8. تُرْجَعُوْنَتم لوٹائے جاؤ گے

Tafheem-ul-Quran

کیا تم نے یہ سمجھ رکھا تھا کہ ہم نے تمہیں فضُول ہی پیدا کیا ہے1 اور تمہیں ہماری طرف کبھی پلٹنا ہی نہیں ہے؟“

  1. اصل میں  عَبَثًا کا لفظ استعمال کیا گیا ہے ، جس کا ایک مطلب تو ہے”کھیل کے طور پر“۔ اور دوسرا مطلب ہے”کھیل کے لیے“۔ پہلی صورت میں آیت کے معنی یہ ہوں گے،”کیا تم نے یہ سمجھا تھا کہ ہم نے تمہیں یونہی بطور ِ تفریح بنا دیا ہے ، تمہاری تخلیق کی کوئی غرض و غایت نہیں ہے، محض ایک بے مقصد مخلوق بنا کر پھیلا دی گئی ہے“۔ دوسری صورت میں مطلب یہ ہوگا ،”کیا تم یہ سمجھتے تھے کہ تم بس کھیل کود اور تفریح  اور ایسی لاحاصل مصروفیتوں کے لیے پیدا کیے گئے ہو جن کا کبھی کوئی نتیجہ نکلنے والا نہیں ہے“۔
