Surah 2, ayah 88

  1. وَقَالُوْااور انہوں نے کہا
  2. قُلُوْبُنَاہمارے دلوں (پر)
  3. غُلْفٌ ؕغلاف ہیں
  4. بَلْ(نہیں) بلکہ
  5. لَّعَنَهُمُلعنت کی ہے ان پر
  6. اللّٰهُاللہ نے
  7. بِكُفْرِهِمْبوجہ ان کے کفر کے
  8. فَقَلِیْلًاتو کتنا تھوڑا ہے
  9. مَّاجو
  10. یُؤْمِنُوْنَوہ ایمان لاتے ہیں

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

وُہ کہتے ہیں، تمارے دل محفوظ ہیں۔نہیں1 ، اصل بات یہ ہے کہ ان کے کفر کی وجہ سے ان پر اللہ کی پھٹکار پڑی ہے، اس لیے وہ کم ہی ایمان لاتے ہیں

  1. یعنی ہم اپنے عقیدہ و خیال میں اتنے پختہ ہیں کہ تم خواہ کچھ کہو، ہمارے دلوں پر تمہاری بات کا اثر نہ ہو گا۔ یہ وہی بات ہے جو تمام ایسے ہٹ دھرم لوگ کہا کرتے ہیں جن کے دل و دماغ پر جاہلانہ تعصّب کا تسلّط ہوتا ہے۔ وہ اسے عقیدے کی مضبُوطی کا نام دے کر ایک خوبی شمار کرتے ہیں، حالانکہ اس سے بڑھ کر آدمی کے لیے کوئی عیب نہیں ہے کہ وہ اپنے موروثی عقائد و افکار پر جم جانے کا فیصلہ کر لے، خواہ ان کا غلط ہونا کیسے ہی قوی دلائل سے ثابت کر دیا جائے۔

Bayan-ul-Quran

اور انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمارے دل تو غلافوں میں بند ہیں بلکہ (حقیقت میں تو) ان پر لعنت ہوچکی ہے اللہ کی طرف سے ان کے کفر کی وجہ سے پس اب کم ہی (ہوں گے ان میں سے جو) ایمان لائیں گے

Commentary

آیت 88 وَقَالُوْا قُلُوْبُنَا غُلْفٌ ط ان کے اس جواب کو آیت 75 کے ساتھ ملایئے جو ہم پڑھ آئے ہیں۔ وہاں الفاظ آئے ہیں : اَفَتَطْمَعُوْنَ اَنْ یُّؤْمِنُوْا لَکُمْ تو اے مسلمانو ! کیا تم یہ توقع رکھتے ہو کہ یہ تمہاری بات مان لیں گے ؟ بعض مسلمانوں کی اس خواہش کے جواب میں یہود کا یہ قول نقل ہوا ہے کہ ہمارے دل تو غلافوں میں محفوظ ہیں ‘ تمہاری بات ہم پر اثر نہیں کرسکتی۔ اس طرح کے الفاظ آپ کو آج بھی سننے کو مل جائیں گے کہ ہمارے دل بڑے محفوظ ہیں ‘ بڑے مضبوط اور مستحکم ہیں ‘ تمہاری بات ان میں گھر کر ہی نہیں سکتی۔بَلْ لَّعَنَہُمُ اللّٰہُ بِکُفْرِہِمْ یہ ان کے اس قول پر تبصرہ ہے کہ ہمارے دل محفوظ ہیں اور غلافوں میں بند ہیں۔فَقَلِیْلاً مَّا یُؤْمِنُوْنَ
