  1. لَیْسَنہیں ہے
  2. الْبِرَّنیکی
  3. اَنْکہ
  4. تُوَلُّوْاتم پھیر لو
  5. وُجُوْهَكُمْاپنے چہروں کو
  6. قِبَلَطرف
  7. الْمَشْرِقِمشرق کے
  8. وَالْمَغْرِبِاور مغرب کے
  9. وَلٰكِنَّاور لیکن
  10. الْبِرَّنیکی یہ ہے
  11. مَنْجو
  12. اٰمَنَایمان لایا
  13. بِاللّٰهِساتھ اللہ کے
  14. وَالْیَوْمِاور یوم
  15. الْاٰخِرِآخرت کے
  16. وَالْمَلٰٓىِٕكَةِاور فرشتوں کے
  17. وَالْكِتٰبِاور کتاب کے
  18. وَالنَّبِیّٖنَ ۚاور نبیوں کے
  19. وَاٰتَیاور اس نے دیا
  20. الْمَالَمال کو
  21. عَلٰیاوپر
  22. حُبِّهٖاس کی محبت۔ اس کی محبت کے باوجود

  37. بِعَهْدِهِمْاپنے عہد کو
  38. اِذَاجب
  39. عٰهَدُوْا ۚوہ عہد کریں
  40. وَالصّٰبِرِیْنَاور جو صبر کرنے والے ہیں
  41. فِیمیں
  42. الْبَاْسَآءِتنگ دستی میں
  43. وَالضَّرَّآءِاور تکلیف میں
  44. وَحِیْنَاور وقت
  45. الْبَاْسِ ؕجنگ میں
  46. اُولٰٓىِٕكَیہی لوگ
  47. الَّذِیْنَوہ لوگ ہیں
  48. صَدَقُوْا ؕجنہوں نے سچ کہا
  49. وَاُولٰٓىِٕكَاور یہی لوگ
  50. هُمُوہ ہیں
  51. الْمُتَّقُوْنَجو متقی ہیں

Translation and commentary

Tafheem-ul-Quran

نیکی یہ نہیں ہے کہ تم نے اپنے چہرے مشرق کی طرف کر لیے یا مغرب کی طرف ،1 بلکہ نیکی یہ ہے کہ آدمی اللہ کو اور یومِ آخر اور ملائکہ کو اور اللہ کی نازل کی ہوئی کتاب اور اس کے پیغمبروں کو دل سے مانے اور اللہ کی محبت میں اپنا دل پسند مال رشتے داروں اور یتیموں پر ، مسکینوں اور مسا فروں پر، مدد کے لیے ہاتھ پھیلانے والوں پر اور غلاموں کی رہائی پر خرچ کرے، نماز قائم کرے اور زکوٰة دے۔ اور نیک وہ لوگ ہیں کہ جب عہد کریں تو اسے وفا کریں، اور تنگدستی و مصیبت کے وقت میں اور حق و باطل کی جنگ میں صبر کریں۔ یہ ہیں راستباز لوگ اور یہی لوگ متقی ہیں

  1. مشرق اور مغرب کی طرف منہ کرنے کو تو محض بطور تمثیل بیان کیا گیا ہے ، دراصل مقصُود یہ ذہن نشین کرنا ہے کہ مذہب کی چند ظاہری رسموں کو ادا کر دینا اور صرف ضابطے کی خانہ پُری کے طور پر چند مقرر مذہبی اعمال انجام  دینا اور تقویٰ کی چند معروف شکلوں کا مظاہرہ کر دینا وہ حقیقی نیکی نہیں ہے ، جو اللہ کے ہاں وزن اور قدر رکھتی ہے۔
